2-5 NL Game

Hero is new to the table (less than an hour) and has about 650 in front. I am late 20's wearing hoody, sweat pants. This hand happened at foxwoods yesterday during the WSOPc. A few players ask if I played the tourney, and I said yes, which means I have already been knocked out. They might think I am a bad recreationally player down here to play a donkament and made my way over to cash, who knows.

Only hand of note I have been in so far is when I open on the button when a full table folds around with Q8c to 20. SB calls.

Flop comes 10s 10h 8s. He checks I bet 35, he calls.

Turn JH. giving 2 flush draws on board. Check Check.

River 3d. He leads for 80. I call and win when he shows AQo

Anyway to the real hand.

UTG+2 opens to 25 with $450 behind. He is late 20's. I have seen him before, and know he is a pretty good reg.

MP calls with $400.

I am in the BB and 3bet to 90 with AKS. I start the hand with $650.

UTG+2 thinks for a while, and it seems like he has a good hand and is contemplating 4 betting. I know he has a solid hand. AKo+, 1010+. He elects to call, and MP folds.

I flop the nuts. How do I proceed?

Checking will make mining hands take the free card or a hand like AJ be suspicious that you didn't follow through with a c-bet. I'd c-bet to disguise it, we only need to get 350 more in here. Bet $100, they'll put you on AKo with 1 spade. You'll only need to get $250 more in on later streets, not that difficult, but turn and river cards matter for sizing, we can't go into sizing on later streets yet.

I agree that not cbetting would be suspicious. You hope he has QxQs/JJ here. AK prob folds out.

Bet flop 40-60% whatever he thinks your standard c bet would be. If he's above average possibly size bigger below average (player strength) then size smaller... Then continue optimally if he calls. If spade hits the turn I might check to induce bluffing from wider range (also dependent on villains caliber of player)... Basically just c bet flop as you would with entire range. Then continue as optimally as possible

This would be a lot trickier if 200-300 bb effective. With these stack sizes.. You just need to hope he has something enough to continue. Cuz checking is no good considering he is a reg.... Bet bet bet is what I'd do. Unless spade hits turn the. Check raise a/I ott

You must bet flop for max value. Another spade can kill the action from a hand you could of got it in with on the flop

Also if the board pairs you could be forced to slow down

If you want to get it in and get it in good, the flop is the best time to do it
