I played poker for fake money for three years on a app and did well which isn’t saying much since people play ******ed for fake money. Anyway i decided to play for real money it’s been 8 days and I’ve lost $30playing 2nl I think I play okay but I get bad beats and suck outs all the time. I’m not one of those people that think it’s rigged but I’ve been so unlucky. Some hands I know could have been played better like not calling a 4 bet shove with QQ and the hand that blew up my bankroll a few minutes ago which was me holding KJs flopping a flush draw calling small bets down, missing my flush and shoving when I hit a K on the river way over pot and getting called with AA. Besides that i don’t know what else to do it feels like my stack always gets chipped away. Sometimes I’ll double up just to lose it all to a bad beat that I could do nothing about like me holding AA and getting shoved on from a guy with KK and he hits a K on the flop. I don’t know maybe I’m just not playing as good as I think I am. Any advice?

Welcome to the forums. These guys are going to eat you alive.

That being said, I'd spend quite a bit of time reading the older threads on here, or more specifically in the micro stakes forum (which is where 2nl belongs.)

The "bad beats" you are talking about are completely normal, and they aren't beats. Just about everything you said about the KJ hand was played wrong. Spend some time looking at opening ranges and how that relates to your position on the table.

Just start from the beginning. Maybe in the beginner questions forum. Also check out the standard way to format your hand analysis questions.

Online play is vastly different than any other form. It's going to take some time to adjust to that. In a nutshell, I can guess the following:

You're opening way too wide, and you're not considering position.
You're calling way to wide, because you don't have a range.
You're calling down way too light because you aren't thinking about your opponent's range.

Those three things alone with decimate a roll, irrespective of size.

No discontent, I wish you the best. This is going to take a lot of work on your part, though.

GL OP.

This is the $1/$2 live poker forum. We can't help you much. I suggest going to the micro full ring forum.
