This hand had me truly confused given V's bet sizings.
2/5 game.

V1: decent reg, played with him a two nights in a row and he's seen me call down some aggro's light and seen me snap 4bet shove AQo from UTG to his BB squeeze in a straddled pot after he lost a big pot and was playing a shorter stack, ofc he had AK. (Sigh... why do they always have the goods when their squeeze range is going to be plenty wide...), playing a stack of about $700

V2: massive fish, calling lots of flops, floating them very frequently and doing lots of button clicking, like min-raising 2nd or 3rd pair on the flop or turn. Also tends to overvalue hands ($550)

Hero: Aggro image, have been 3betting V2 to isolate quite frequently and been quite active. ($900)

Hero is dealt Kd5d in the bb.

Preflop
V1 MP raises to 20, V2 otb calls, Hero calls

Flop ($62)
QdJd5h

Hero checks, V1 bets 20, V2 calls, Hero calls

Turn ($122)
Ks

Hero checks, V1 bets 40, V2 folds, Hero calls

River ($202)
4h
Hero checks, V1 bets 285, Hero????

On the flop I contemplated raising but then opted to call as I am raising a lot of other fds like all the combo draws and some of the lower fds with no sd-value which can easily be released to a 3bet.

On the turn, I bink 2 pair, but I find V1's line quite confusing as he's betting very small with V2 in the hand. If he had something nutted, I would expect him to bet on the larger side to extract the most from this guy. My range will be plenty wide in the BB with V2 involved in the hand as well. IDK if the bet was meant to induce V2 to overvalue any random junk he can have or a bet with one pair type hand that is looking to get value from a very wide V2 range. I just flat as I don't think V1 will continue with to many hands I beat and am generally confused by his bet sizing.

River is a huge brick. V2 is now out of the hand and on a board with so many draws V1 overbets the pot? What do you guys think V1's range looks like? What does our range look like to V1? What do we do guys? Call or throw this bad boy into the muck?

You should not be in this hand dude, certainly not in this manner. This should nearly always be a fold pre and very rarely a 3bet. If stacks were deeper you could over bluff this spot with a 3bet but this shallow just fold pre.

As played, call. But really, who cares? This isn’t the spot you should be studying or preparing for.

Nah it's a fine defend. I'd like something less passive post.

Not checkraising the turn harshed my mellow.

Did V2 tend to over value HU or multi-way? This would influence the decision.

Absent that, I’d follow through with your read here. Call. If you’ve been aggro post, that would support a call as well.

The nutty part of his range would include: KQ/KJ/AdTd/Td9d. Seems consistent with his sizing. Likely to play flopped sets and 2-pr with larger sizing. Also includes missed AdXd.

Hero range is super wide obviously and given the passive line, KT/QT/JT along with FD/SD.

Preflop defend is fine by me.

Flop I think you should check raise to maximize fold equity and build the pot for when you hit. You're gonna get a lot of straight draws to fold, which is fine as your equity percentage will go up when you narrow the field to HU vs 3way. When you call on this flop, you're letting hands stay in the pot like T9, AT and these two hands will cost you lots when a King comes on the turn or river....like this hand. Better to make them pay to draw on the flop or fold them out.

If you check call the flop, which you did then I would check call all the way down once HU
