1/2 we are 150 bb effective

The main Villain is fishy, playing way too loose and passive pre flop and is capable of calling down light.

There are four limps and I make it 20 with KQ from the sb the bb calls and the four limpers fold. pot: 48

Flop: A95 I bet 30, V calls pot: 108

Turn: Q check check

River: 2 I bet 40, V raises to 80 total and I call

My thought process OTR was to get thin value out of a 9 or a Qx diamonds type hand. When he raised I decided to call since I was getting a very sick price and it is possible that he could be making this play with busted diamonds/ gutshots. Do you agree with my line?

I'd rather x/c river than bet. Once you get raised, it's an easy fold. You block some flush draw combos, and a loose passive fish at 1/2 is rarely going to be bluff raising the river in this spot anyways.

It is super rare for most villains to make a min raise with less then two pair on the river. Unless you have some reason to think villain can be bluffing in this situation I would consider it's a trivial fold. I expect villain to show up with AQ/99/55 most of the time.

There are bluffy villains who will make min raise bluffs but they are almost always loose/aggressive/bluffy villains where you will know quickly you have to allow for a lot of bluffs in their range.

Nothing in your reads suggest that he may raise the river (and lol small too) with busted draws.
Why do you think that he will do that even though the VAST majority of players won't?
Why do you think that he would use that sizing in particular?

Just bet/fold and call it a day.

Edit:
Also, why do you think he would take an aggressive action on the river with a busted draw, but not on the turn?

I like the way this hand was played until the call on the end... I think a value bet with kq on the end is legit but this is always going for thin value..... It's not really thin but it's not a slam dunk take villan to value town.... As such the line is Always bet fold.....we made our bet we got our answer, it might be a stupid fiddly little raise, but if villan is bluffing he is going to make it more than a min raise...
