1-2 London.

Unknown villain(30 year old Arab) just sat down.
Looks like the gambler type and buys in deep with gaming floor chips.
99% certain he is a recreational player.

Loose table so I open raise to £11 with AhQc from LJ and he defend in the BB.
£325 effective.

£23 AcKd8c
He leads £10 and I just call.

£43 9d
He bets £50
Call.

£143 4c
He bets £135

Shall we call turn here?
If so, what about river?

Tough spot given villain description, but you probably want to fold turn. The normal reaction to an AKx flop is not to launch an attack on the PFR. Small bet then large bet is typically value at LLSNL. It's possible he's just a complete maniac but odds are against it, even given description.

Cmon man, folding the turn would be terribad. He has lots of worse AX in his range for sure.

Meh. Betting 50 is unusual enough that it gets my attention. I think someone betting 10 into 23 but then 50 into 43 rarely presages meekly checking the river and showing a weak ace, but maybe I'm being influenced by the fact that I know he pots the river.

Btw, this is a spot where you can raise the flop for value.

Agree w/ ATC, raise the weak flop lead (though I don't fault a flat necessarily, just feel it loses a little immediate/long-term value). The turn call is defendable I suppose, but think Chris' suggestion of folding is best. Typical 1/2 passives aren't sizing like this w/ TPxK (though obviously we can include some discounted % of them), and our marginally +EV showdown equity is diluted somewhat in that Villain will be barreling river @ a very high % (case in point).

So his pure value OTT include A8,A9,K9s,K8s,88, and let's say 1 rogue AK. Maybe he does this w/ AJ/AT 50% of the time iyam.

AP I think a river fold is advisable. If it turns out he was overplaying a weaker Ax, take that into consideration for future hands, but not sure how we would be able to decipher that fact in a vacuum like this.

Flop: Raise flop and bet turn is definitely an option, but I wanted to give him a chance to hang himself.
He seemed like a guy capable of doing so.

Facing £50 on the turn wasn't fun, but it's tough to fold when I'm at the top of my range.
Not sure if it's +EV to call though.

He bets £135 into £143 with K9o lol
Good bet when your opponent makes a horrific call...

Would he bet 135 instead of around 100-£105 as a bluff?
Probably not.

Thanks for the help guys.
