Hello LLSNL, inspired by DK Barrel's sweat thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...-sweat-1405984, I thought I'd do my own. I'm playing LATB on Fri for the 1st time -- $5/$5, $300-$1000, Bart and Owais commentating.

Fans of MooreMoney19 will be able to ID me from my t-shirt, but I hope to use the name "mbd".

**Anyone who's played LATB before (including DK) --> any tips for first timers?

And for the uninitiated, the site is http://www.pokernetcast.com, it goes from 7:30pm to 10:30pm Pacific Time Friday & Tuesday, and you don't need an account to watch live (and you can watch the last two episodes on demand with a free account)

GL Doc. I recommend that you ask Marie-Lizette Acoba for the seat arrangements of certain aggressive players before the game starts. This way, you can avoid certain notorious LAGs sitting on your left. There is nothing more annoying than having your friends rail you on LATB and then suffering the pain of getting all your LP raises 3bet and/or your c-bets getting floated/raised on a regular basis.

glgl!!

I'd suggest getting some pokering in before LATB begins, when I went on friday my very first experience with LA poker was the LATB game and that probably affected me negatively (not that there was a whole lot I could have done given my seat & hands). On Tuesday I got there early and played in the afternoon and I think I did better because of that.

Definitely seat-select like ATsai says -- I felt like I was in hell Friday because I thought Pinky and JCW were both strong aggressive players and they were 2 and 4 seats to my left respectively (turns out only JCW was, Pinky was fairly nitty but just picked up hands vs me) and obviously having the worst seat on the table's only mark wasn't ideal.

I think the two games I played were some of the tougher LATB tables I've seen. Both times there was just one really fishy player and the rest were probably breakeven at worst, playing TAGgish and doing most things correctly. The other cash tables are going to be more profitable but you're paying for the entertainment and the commentary and it's probably worthwhile.

Also, yeah a few people are going to be watching you and some of them are even sacrificing premium poker hours to do it, but remember that it's you playing and it's your money. Don't feel pressured like you need to get involved. If you're card dead or you're in a spot where you ordinarily wouldn't bluff, don't force it. We're all rooting for you and want to watch you kick ass but nobody wants to see you spew.

I'll try to catch this, latb sweats are great.

Think you've played fairly well so far just pretty unlucky

A5s, pinky's enormous 3b sizing is pretty fishy and you can probably rule out super premiums, like he has a hand like TT/JJ at best otherwise he would raise smaller and that would probably be a good spot to 4b light.

I mean some players do 3b huge with QQ+ because they are scared to play a big hand postflop but don't think pinky does

curious about your reasoning for the big bet with A7dd

Spoiler:
clint had AT, floated flop turned tp and bluffcatched river. figured you put him on either diamonds or a small pair which would fold to any size bet and bombed it for value vs smaller flushes

That A7 was sick... Not sure how Clint calls there.

Just found this thread -- was good playing with you, I was in the 9 seat most of the night then moved to the 6 towards the end. Glad my AA fold wasn't in vain!

Hey DJ, gg for sure...excellent fold with the AA. I regret my too nonchalant flip of the hundo chip...live tell for sure :-)

Overall it was a lot of fun and I just watched some key hands. In general, it was actually a pretty ****ty game with only one real spot, who happened to be to my right, but I managed to run into him when he had it.

DK, Bart was spot on with why I bombed the river with A7...I wanted to really polarize, as Clint was a thinking hand reader, but tended to try to always find a hand he could beat...this led to a lot of light questionable calls from him...thankfully including the hero call with A10 on a flushed, paired board. As for the Pinky 3-bet with J2, I definitely sensed it was a good spot for him to squeeze 3-bet light and considered a 4-bet...but I also wasn't super keen on light 4-betting one of the stronger players, even IP. Honestly, I was probably also a little gun shy after my light 4-bet with 97 didn't work out.

All in all, a very cool experience and one I can check off the bucket list...would definitely do it again!
