We generally lock these threads because the OP typically goes, "well, I had crap but it was better than his crap, so you all suck at poker and I'm a living poker god."

TT is right on the edge. I don't think a recreational player jams a FD, nor c/r TP. That said, he's overbetting the pot too often to have it every time. My belief is you're 60/40 on this. Suck it up and reload if he has it. You want him to start showing.

FWIW I actually think this turned out to be a good thread, mostly because the OP was interested in the right question instead of showing what a poker god he is.

AKdd, overpairs and 2pair+. He probably has like J9 or T8 and this bet makes sense to him.

Not a horrible fold. I probably snap with TTx though

If only there were such godliness to show...

After stoving a reasonable range for villain it looks like KK+ should be at least the bottom of our calling range. If we have a read that villain overplays top pair this bad or has a lot more draws in his range then we can consider widening our calling range to QQ+ or wider.

Why are you guys putting villain on overpairs? You really think he completes the SB with AA?

this is live poker - limp calling AA in the SB is kinda standard with these clowns

Uh no I really dont think it is. The only time fish limp AA is to setup a 3bet preflop. Besides this guy supposedly doesnt even know the rules, so he'd probably minraise the SB or something with AA. Anything but limp, since that requires some attempt at "fancy play" which is beyond him.

Given villain's description I think there's a pretty decent chance he limps overpairs pre, especially if he hasn't raised pre at all yet. And since there's also a small chance he spazzes with top pair that just adds more value to overpairs.

Fwiw he shows me a nine and mucks the 2nd card.

Later I saw him "protect" AK on K72r and stack 200bbs on the flop.

This.

Calling range is AA+ here as it's a ******edly played premium most of the time.

Lol @ 9. He had two of them.

The worst I'm calling with here is 98. The SPR is 14 so I'm never stacking off with an overpair/TPTK. Also folding any flush draw except JdTd/Td7d/7d6d.

No he didnt. If he had 2 he'd be proud to show and show them both. He's a nice fish who just overplays his hands. He had top pair with any kicker and thought it was the nuts. We can call much wider than AA. What do fish PRIMARILY do? They limp with rags and call bets out of position with rags. Sure maybe 1/1000000 times they complete the SB with AA. All the other times it's virtually any two cards, only slightly thinned by a preflop raise. K9 looks mighty good to a fish on a 983 flop.
