1/2 NL, 6 handed
Hero-380
V1-320
V2-200

Both V's are typical young LAGs. I have the reputation for being the tightest player, but they got here only 30 minutes ago so perhaps not in their minds.

As a dealer hands me a card, she accidentally flips it over exposing a king.

Hero on the button-AK

2 limpers, hero raises to 12
SB(V1) calls
BB (V2) raises to 45
Folds to Hero

Should I jam here? V1 doesn't seem to be strong. Exposing a king makes me feel much more confident V2 doesn't have me crushed, but it also means should he call with a lower pocket pair, I have less equity with an out missing. But I think overall it benefits me to jam.

I think the King is slightly worse for you in general since his range for a LAG BB squeeze of a button raise would be something like 88-AA, AQo+, AJs+, KQs, if not wider. Many more PPs in there than hands that crush you.

All that said it seems a pretty trivial jam, and I'd expect to pick up 28BBs uncontested most of the time.

Your range seems spot on. But the reason I thought the king may help me is because he's obviously calling with KK+. The lower pocket pairs that he's squeezing with will mostly fold. Even though I am in bad shape against 88+, some of those will fold. He ended up folding face up, he had 99. I figure he'd probably even fold TT.

That was V2, the BB raiser. V1 tanked for a long time, claimed to have AQs which surprised me he'd think about it for so long. You're not beating anything I'm jamming with. It made me feel he was probably lying about what he had. Perhaps he folded jacks or something and was embarrassed to admit.

Why didn’t you get a replacement card?

An exposed card should always hurt you. Honestly I think it’s an interesting discussion whether this hand should be played at all. Going post with an exposed card really sucks. If you’re going to play go much larger with a very narrow range.

It didn't. You want to have a tight image and only do this once in a long while (don't do this every hour) to get away with it. But the exposed king is essentially meaningless against the range you gave.

@browni3141, I'm assuming he did get a replacement card. If not, he should have left the room. This is more of a 2 napkins type of play. It doesn't matter what you have in your hand.

I don’t agree with the rest of your post but you’re probably right here and I’m a dumb dumb.

He got a replacement card (either an A or a K)

The missing out is the exposed king.

I'm pushing over against these villains.

But I gotta tell you I came into this thread ready to defend myself in case that very old charge was uncovered.
