Dgiharris 10k Pooh-bah post: On Turning Pro Dgiharris 10k Pooh-bah post: On Turning Pro

Hey guys,

I've been meaning to post a pooh-bah post for quite a while and I finally figured out how to go about it. I'm going to post 2 to 3 of them focusing on areas where I feel I can contribute.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/32...g-pro-1426688/

The above link is my first Pooh-bah thread titled "On Turning Pro."

I posted it in the Beginner's Forum since it is my response to the weekly "Hey Dgi I'd like to go pro what should I do..." questions I get PM'd on a weekly basis.

Obviously there are different paths on going pro but this thread represents my opinion on the subject based on my experience.

I was torn on whether to post it here or in the BQ forum and after careful thought I think it belongs there since it super basic.

In any event, I just wanted to flash/spam this forum so that you guys are aware its out there.

I will be posting my LLSNL 10k pooh bah post before the month is out.

dgi...

I think an important step to turning pro is having ~100 buyins for whatever game your playing when you decide. Just so you can get a car, place to live and other amenities and still have a deep roll

also being rolled for 5/10 (holdem). being a 2-5 pro(unless youre into plo) probably doesnt have a long-lived sustainibility ubnless youre in a area with sick games. Ive pulled 45-55 /hr at 2/5 but that isnt that good imo for being a pro

Huh?

$50/hr at any job is fantastic...

If you just play 35 hr/wk for 50 wk/yr you'll make $87,500.

I could easily survive on $15/hr and I live an extremely expensive city (nyc)

Harris,

I'll be back in Vegas on Sat, 3/22, for early preperation for the series, through mid-July.

Hit me up and we'll work out together...a couple of "old" guys

The linked thread is great. I've already put a link in the stickies. However, I want to have comments just in one thread to make it easier for dgiharris to respond. So I'm locking this, but am going to sticky it in this forum for a while. If you want to respond, put it in the original thread.
