Does anyone think of defense in poker? I was wondering if such strategy even exist.

I'll bite.
Can you make a case for the following?

-changing seats for better position against a tough opponent
-in position avoiding pots with a tough opponent
-racking up to go home and watch Breaking Bad

There is merit in considering whether you should "bet to defend the equity you have in the pot".

E.g. you have JJ on a J89-twosuit flop against 4 opponents. You bet or raise for value, but it is also to defend the equity you have in the pot against opponents on draws.
