Please consider the following hand:
2/4/8 game.
Hero opens in EP to 30. MP calls. Straddle calls.
Flop ($96) J75 rainbow. Straddle donks 70! (note the relatively large sizing!)
Hero calls.
Turn ($236) offsuit J. So J75J. Straddle jams for $420.
Which hands are calls here?

Villain was an inexperienced rec. Busted from the $200 Tournament.
My assessment was that he might be stupid enough to even play 77 this way.
On the other hand, could he be the other kind of stupid and play AA this way?
He should know/fear that I have a lot of J in this spot.

Why not Jx?

Don't know until we call.

Calling Jx and Boats.

Flop sizing isn't huge. Standard operating procedure from recs.

Sizing helps us. As we don't have to defend very wide.

If I'm opening from EP I only have AJ, JJ, 55 and 77 that interact with this board and I'm calling down with all of them. I would probably fold AA- to the turn shove but I'm open to arguments not to (and I probably would have raised and gotten all in on the flop with AA, KK, QQ).

Why would you ever do that vs a donk bet?

What makes you think playing 77 or AA this way is all that stupid? Unconventional lines that you cant figure out arent all stupid.

To stack an inexperience rec who thinks top pair in the nuts.
