In a very loose gambly game, calling a lot of opens with speculative hands in position looking to make a monster and play a huge pot, or check and fold a lot if we don't make a monster or flop an 8+ out draw can be very profitable.
In a game where folks are afraid to get stacks in without the near nuts, floating a lot of flops and bluffing turns with implied big river bets can be very profitable.
When you have position on a fish, it matters a ton if he's an aggro-fish that you want to isolate and then call down his post flop bets pretty light when HU IP, or a passive fish against whom you want to make a hand and value-bet to death.
Etc., etc., etc.
Bolded is the biggest takeaway. You want to try to get involved cheaply in as many hands as possible when IP (HJ, CO, BTN), especially if you are one of the better players at the table. The large stacks will give you the ability to win many pots before showdown simply because V's ranges will be more polarized than yours.
