The defining feature of a station is that they call too much, not that they don't make bets or raise. Most stations are passive and stationary but that isn't a requirement. It is possible to have aggressive stations, villains who bluff a lot and bet their big hands but can't put down their weak ones. Usually these guys think everybody is trying to bluff them and end up calling down with weak pairs or even ace high. They are not nearly as common as passive stations, but they do exist.

You flopped top two on a scary board and were thrown off by the check on the flop. It happens, even the fish can have it. You went too far with the hand, I'm checking the back the turn here for pot control and probably folding the river. If the fish go from zero to mac 3, they are more than often good. Like you said, broadway boat or air. Unlucky bud.

This turn sizing is a little large though. Depends how stationey the V is.
