Crazy blind call pot

Live 1/3

So last night I got it in QQ vs 88 early in the session dude hits an 8 I knew right away, built my stack back up to 350 from 100 over 3 hours and Iím stacking my chips in the rack ready to leave and I decide to play one more hand after someone puts out a button straddle and most of the table agrees to blind call the 6$ straddle.

So I end up with 24 and 34s5s comes out. Someone who did look at his cards leads out for 20. Guy next to me who blind called preflop calls the twenty, I call. Turn comes off suit 6. 3 of us left, check check I go all in with the low end straight.

Iím thinking the first dude canít have a seven here unless he has 67 or A7 because just sat down at the table, hadnít played much, led out on the flop and didnít agree to blind call. Iím thinking heís got to have a set, two pair, flush draw, some A2 or A5.

The second dude can have any two cards because I saw him not look at his hand. The likelyhood of him having a seven is literally 1/13. So Iím thinking I likely have the best hand and donít want it to continue so I go all in. First dude calls with a set and the second dude calls and he had 72. He was the same dude that I got it in QQ vs 88 at the start of the session.

I felt so dumb for going all in with low end but I really think it was right decision

I also feel so dumb, but for a different reason.

Re: Crazy blind call pot

Your thinking about the first villain has some merit. It is unlikely he has a straight. He had something worth betting on the flop and there are lots more hands that don't have a 7 that can bet. Your thinking about the second is wrong, even in abstract his chances are better then 1/13 because he has two cards that can either be a seven and a bunch of cards can be removed because they are turned up. Also he had something worth calling with on the flop, which takes all of the random garbage that missed out of his range.

The biggest problem is that with 4 to a straight on the board what worse can call? Other then chops and hands that beat you only sets are likely calls and here even those might fold. Sometimes a villain won't get away from 2 pair or some monster combo spade draw but multiway mostly they fold.

Re: Crazy blind call pot

Fold the flop. You have 0 outs to the nuts in a family pot. It's not hard for you to be drawing pretty thin already, and you have little, if any implied odds on any of your outs. Your equity against their actual hands was only 8%

Turn shove is horrendous. Bet like 1/3 pot mostly to protect your equity. I wouldn't expect them to check with a 7, but they can and jamming guarantees that's the only hand you get called by (okay, you got called by a set, but that guy is dumb unless the bet was not large)

Just because the first guy looked at his cards pre doesn't mean he can't have a 7. I can't at all understand why you'd think this. It's also not "literally" 1/13 that the second guy has a 7. I can guess how you calculated this, but it's incorrect.
