Villain- is relatively new to the table. You can tell he is getting frustrated with the 3 betting and aggression. Its a late night 1/2 game that is deep and is much for aggro than passive. He keeps making comments at me to go play 2/5 lol. Also how he is going to catch me

OTH

utg limps 2

mp limps 2

Villain - raises to 15 from the button (450 effective)

Hero- 3 bets to 55 from the sb with Aq

folds around to villain who grills me for 30 seconds and calls

Pot= 114$

Flop- A63

Hero- What sizing do you guys take here. Being such a dry flop can anyone get with a downbet say of like 40-45$?

as played hero c bets 45$

Villains snap calls the 45$

Pot= 204$

Turn- 10

IMO this is where I think I wasn't sure what to do. It is a 3 bet pot and for the most part this villain has been folding to 3 bets. Obv with an ace and an ace on the flop there are less Ax that should call pre in a 3 bet pot. I don't think his pairs can continue on the turn with a bet. If you do bet how large do you go. Also I felt like checking might get him to value own himself.

Hero- checks

Villain- snaps in 95$

Hero- tank calls 95$

Pot= 394 and villain has roughly 200 ish behind going into the river

River 6

Hero- now my issue was if I check I didn't want him to check back for cheap showdown. In theory AK should be 4 betting pre but it was possible he could by tighter postflop in 3 bet pots since its 1/2. A10 has us obv...we now be A3 suited...and there are less combos for set of 6s. Its a money river card.

do you guys lead out or check and play our line as weak something maybe like a weak Ax suited or QQKK

hero - checks

villain- snapps all in

hero- snaps im never folding

Spoiler:
villain shows k8 diamonds total air....floated flop prob because of down sizing..picked up equity on turn and since we checked he barreled. we check river he rips

well played imo. It depends on your cbet sizing strategy. If you go small like you did you can bet hands as weak as ATs here.

If you are going bigger sizing - AQ can be a check sometimes.

Also Axx in 3bet pots SBvsBTN are the lowest frequency cbet boards.

Turn and the river should be your defualt line.

Gin dry flop against steaming V. I like the cbet. But I’d lead this turn rather than let this guy draw at me for free. Hero doesn’t have a 3 street hand so I’m betting enough to price him out of his FDs and silly gutters he OTT. River is WP imo.

I'm fine with the flop sizing but I want to continue with a 2nd barrel on this turn. We're getting value from all worse Ax, all flush draws, and potentially worse pairs (JJ-KK for example). Bet ~$100 on turn and plan to check most rivers if he calls.
