Live tourney.. 1,000/2,000 blinds no ante.
H has ~60,000 2nd in chips at table.
6 Handed
UTG Folds
H has AhQc makes it 4,000
BTN - Loose Passive
SB(V) - Plays solid, have played with him before and he plays a good game. - Calls
BB Calls
Flop - Ac 7s Jc
Checks to H - Bets 8,000
BTN Folds, SB calls, BB folds
Turn Kc
V checks... Pot is 32,000. Do we bet here? If so, why?
I felt handcuffed but also felt like I had the best hand here often enough especially with the nut club redraw... but what happens? A bet of 16k basically commits our stack completely and getting check raised here is sick.. , so do we check back and re evaluate river or go for thin value/protection or try to get value from a weaker A or drawing hand? Very confused by this....
Thanks.

What's SB's stack size? Any info about our image? History with SB? What do you think his range is when he flats pre and calls the flop bet?
Answering these questions will make it a lot clearer how we should proceed on the turn.

I don't mind checking back here. A bet accomplishes nothing. If he is afraid of the clubs, he is not putting more money in, and if not, he could, as you say, check/raise you. A checkback here widens his range OTR, and he still must act first.
With 32K in the pot, and 48K left in our hand, I can see a lot of ways our stack ends up in the middle. Not to mention, if he has less chips than you, it's pretty easy to get his stack in there.
Needless to say, I am at least calling most river bets (absent a T not club, or Q not club rolling off, and even then, maybe)

This is a cash game forum. I suggest posting this in the small stakes MTT.
