Common LLSNL Acronyms

These are acronyms that you'll see often in posts ITF (In this Forum). If you think of one that should be added, or run in to one that isn't on the list, please post ITT (In This Thread), and we'll add it.

2p - Two Pair
3-bet - A re-raise. The third bet on a given street
3b - 3-bet
3! - 3-bet
4-bet - a re-re-raise. The fourth bet on a given street

AI - All In
AP - As Played (given that the poster already took a given action)
ATC - Any Two Cards

BB (or bb) - Big Blind. Note that some older posters will differentiate these, and argue that either the upper or lower case is actually "big bet" in limit poker, but ITF they are used interchangeably.
BB/hr - Big Blinds per hour. The standard measure of win rate in LLSNL
b/c - Bet and then call if someone raises
b/f - Bet and then fold if someone raises
b/3b - Bet and then re-raise if someone raises

ITF - In This Forum

LAG - Loose aggressive (player)
LAP - Loose passive (player)
LJ - Lowjack position (1 before Highjack)
LLSNL - Live Low-Stakes No Limit
LP - Late Position
L/P - Loose Passive (player)

MABG - Middle Aged Black Guy
MAWG - Middle Aged White Guy
MHIG - My Hand Is Good, used when folks post results (not until discussion has died down, please) to mean that they won at showdown.

MUBSy - A player who often has MUBS

NH - Nice Hand

o - Off-suit
OESD - Open Ended Straight Draw
OESFD - Open Ended Straight Flush Draw
OMC - Old Man Coffee, a very tight player
OOP - Out Of Position

Re: Common LLSNL Acronyms

Nice, thanks for doing this!

I would add:
- the r stands for rainbow in 8K4r
- Is LAP really loose passive or is it LP? Or both?
- MAWB is really middle aged black guy? Its not MABG? Genuinely asking because I've never seen these types of acronyms until I started posting here
- I always thought BB = big bet (from limit holdem) = 2x big blind = 2x bb (bb = big blind)
- SD can also mean showdown

Re: Common LLSNL Acronyms

CS = calling station

ES = effective stacks

(V)NH = (very) nice hand

SDV = showdown value

It might be obvious from reading the list and extrapolating, but in the interest of completeness you could include 4! and 5! in there.

Also while OP is usually Original Poster, sometimes I see it used to mean overpair.

I also sometimes see an "x" used to mean "check" as in "x/c, x/r", etc. ("Call" is always a c.)

I would use L/P for loose/passive and T/P for tight/passive.

Re: Common LLSNL Acronyms

SPR - stack-pot ratio
PE - pot equity
x/r, x/c, x/f - check-call check-raise, check/fold to me
CiB - click it back - re-raise the minimum
you might throw in "grunch" if we're looking at slang - to offer an opinion in a thread without reading any of the preceding comments
PAHWM - play a hand with me

also I guess:
PFR - pre-flop raise %
VPIP - voluntary $ put in pot %
which as someone who used to play a lot of online, I can't really stop thinking with.

Re: Common LLSNL Acronyms

LAP always bugs me. What does the 'A' stand for? It's not really an acronym, it is just like that to mirror TAG/LAG.

AINEC - And It's Not Even Close
ROR - Risk Of Ruin (should the 'O' be lowercase?)
GSSD - GutShot Straight Draw
GOAT - Greatest Of All Time

BBBJ or ATM, lol, joking aside.

Why no OBG = old black guy = owg = old white guy

YBG = young black guy.

Honestly, that's the reason, it's ridiculous to abbreviate every single thing. You guys are likely not typing up firggin threads on a phone, so you have the time to not abbreviate super common accronyms. A lot of you probably can hit 60+ WPM and there is really no excuse not to type those extra words. I've been smacking over 100+ since I was 12.

I see no excuse why you can't type words out.

I'm going to assume loose & passive so you don't confuse it with late position, either way, how hard is it to type it up.

Added some of these. Will do the rest after work, as I need to get going. FWIW (CWIDT?) I'm only adding ones that are germane to poker strat discussions , not ones that are general internet-speak.

Well, if you're making it a thing.

TID - take it down
RB -rebuy
AO - Add-on
GSD - Gutshot draw
ISD - inside straight draw
OPP opponent
OTB - on the button (this would be hilarious to abbreviate for every position)
ROR - risk of ruin
V-bet - value bet
vpip - voluntarily put into pot
top - theoerem of poker
VWP - very well played
WK - weak

That's not poker related but more just normal slang. But I do use it even in talking to people at the table. I'll sometimes say GG to tilt a reg.
