lol... Don't get me wrong, you are going to run into some good players, but you are going to see the same landmines as you do everywhere else. 1500 events are probably pretty amateur/rec player infested. TBH I hope you draw Phil Ivey at your table. The story is worth the investment. If you don't get Phil Ivey then you'll draw the rec playing landmine Phil Ivory.

In the one tourney I played this year (the OMC event) the players at my table were very weak - only one "name"player rotated through during 12 hours, and our table did not break until 11pm. Unfortunately I had a complete calling station on my left who called every time I (or anyone else) raised, and was there to the river with any piece. And he always seemed to flop a piece. So you had to make hands - we started with 3K and I was never able to get it up above $15K. Did outlast 3800 plus players, but over 4400 in the tournament.

YES! Just pulled of an AI squeeze after 4 limpers, CO raises to 8bbs and BTN calls. I shove my 45 Bob stack with napkins and make 20bbs.

Just got "floated" Classic-style (ask APD). Raise AQ over a couple of limpers. Calling station cold calls from the SB, one limper calls. Flop is 4d8d2c. Station calls my c-bet, and I check it down after a Jh hits turn. She shows down AJo. Gross.

Same player just knocked out two others when she called a raise with K2s, called raiser and another with TPNK, then went AI when a duece hit. They both had AK.

Busted a guy who had about the same stack as me. 99>AK AIPF for about 25bbs effective. Nice and healthy stack now, but blinds getting high. Time to change gears again.
