Villain is a middle aged asian guy and has a rep as a bit of a wild / action player but I havent played with him personally.

1/2, $290 effective

I raise AQ utg to $12
villain calls ($290)
button calls
sb calls

flop $45
QJT
check, I check? villain bets $60, folds to me, I call

Turn $165
QJT4 rainbow
I check, villain shoves $218, hero?

I find myself checking hands like AA, KK, AQ, KQ most of the time when multiway (like 4+ of us) on this flop. Do you think this is ok, or should I be betting? If I should be betting, which of these should I bet most often? Thanks

Bet flop

As played, it's not clear whether xr or call is better vs action player but dont fold

Something like min raise, ship the turn is pretty strong

Yeah you want to be checking the flop here. Only bet if you want to go with the hand if raised, which is reasonable with KK and KQ. Checking or betting them both fine.

This is an annoying spot if that's all the info you have on villain. I think you just want to be folding the flop. In view of preflop I doubt he has AK or a set. Let's say we give him any two pair, any straight except AK, and any pair + draw type hand (like J9 or KT). You're a small dog there, about 49%, and that feels like a better than average scenario. When you factor in positional disadvantage on the turn and river, I think you want to be hammering the eject button straightaway. Obviously this is all subject to change depending on the player, some guys will always have the two pair and straight hands here, some guys will never have them, it's hard to know what we're dealing with from just "reputation as an action player".

I am cbetting this flop maybe 30 or so and then see how the turn goes. I feel we are getting 1 maybe 2 streets of value here but I am not going to getting too committed if faced with some push back.
as played I really dont know, I feel like a fold is the right thing to do as villian is trying to get rid of the pair+draws out of the pot as villain has a weak 2 pair (JT or QJ)

My problem with betting is, look at the range I gave villain, that's a fairly loose range and we're a dog. If we're a dog against a range like that, how are we betting into 3 opponents and expecting to make money?

Agree. Don’t know why H over bet the flop. AP. It’s a fold. QJ10no club is a decent but not great flop for AcQc. Not at all trying to play a big pot here.

I’d almost always check this flop 4-way. A board with both a J and T hits opponents calling ranges very hard.

As played, I’d fold. Not much info on the V, nevertheless he over-bet flop with someone (BTN) yet to act. Additionally, as the PFR, Hero has all 16 combos of AK in that range, yet there is pressure being applied after calling flop over-bet.

Man I really need the pay more attention when I’m reading these. Still a fold on the turn, maybe a fold on the flop. Either way you’re in a bad spot va. A V whi’s Firing large flop and turn.

Am I a huge nit for folding on the flop? I can't imagine how this is ever going well for us, we are going to be forced to fold very often on later streets.

Like the reason we'll be forced to fold a lot on later streets is that our hand is just not that good now. It looks pretty, but its equity vs any reasonable range is ehhhh

Definitely foldable on the flop, particularly to a 1.33 PSB which nearly commits stacks to pot.
