1/2 NL

V is an OG, pretty tight passive player

Hero(300) in LP with 44, V on my right opened to 5, I flat call and two other players call as well.

V has 80 behind post flop, other 2 V's are also short having around 60 ish post flop;

F:T96 (2 hearts) ; It gets checked around, I'm done with this hand at this point

T:4d boom miracle card? first act bets 12, called by other player and V on my right who opened to 5 pf raises to 40; this is where I am not loving it anymore bc I don't think this old guy would stick half his stack out there with a pair plus FD or any FD for that matter; I don't see him checking TP on the flop or an OP on the flop, I feel like his range is narrowed down to bigger sets here; I have 2 players behind me so I can't really flat call this and give them good price to draw on me; I guess if I can put QQ+ in his range then this is an easy raise but who opens to 5 with those hands and then checks the flop? it's a gross spot for me

I min raise to 85 in this spot; Can I find a fold here?

TIA

I would consider actions other than folding - but it looks like main V might have flopped a monster.

The action is a little hard to follow - you could give the villains names by their positions, and make sure the suits come up as icons like ""

V1-EP limped pre, V2 EP limped pre, V3 (OG) opened to 5 pre in LP ; I called behind having position on all players;

Turn: 4d..V1 bet 12..V2 called...V3 raised to 40 with 40 behind... I am next act with bottom set and have them all covered. V1(60)..V2(60)...V3(40 behind)

Yeah just fold, check flop and raise brick turn from an old guy is never anything but super strong. Probably TT the vast majority of the time because:

Very much applies here, like the line of "check really wet board then raise brick turn" makes no sense, therefore villain flopped the nuts. (Not actually the nuts, that would be 87, but the same reasoning applies; he flopped super well and panicked and didn't know what to do).

Never folding a set with under 100bb effective stacks except in exceptional circumstances (like if a very tight player raises on a monotone flop and we hold bottom set). This could be a weirdly played overpair. Sorry you lost.

+1 to fold. Tight passive players don't semibluff, and you're not even out of the woods against the donkbet and call.

OP, please don't give away the results in your titles in the future.

Fold. Hero only dominates over pairs and 2 pair combos which are both very unlikely.

I would rather call than raise, and vs certain players fold is best

I agree with you; I quickly removed all draws from his range bc he would just flat those; This spot just caught me off guard , it's not every day you bink a set and hate life; oh well , just a part of the growing process;

Also it is almost impossible for him to have improved on the turn with some weird 2p, making more of an argument for letting this one go..

EP had set of 6's,..OG had 10's... set over set over set lol

I recall many times at 1/2 where I folded sets against tight passive players and was right the vast majority of the time. They're telling you they have a set or a straight which you are drawing very badly against. If a donk goes with top two and old man has straight you're drawing super thin also. The key point is they're representing much better hands than yours and don't have the skill/imagination to ever work in a bluff.
