Sb loves to c/r and bluff and has a very wide range

Checks to me, I bet 25, trying to get value from 4,6,or 8 and to protect from A or K rivers, I wasn’t trying to fold out diamonds with this size

I check he bets 40

I feel like he is mainly repping Qx when he calls the turn, and he’s never betting a lone Q on this river. I don’t think he gets here with any Ax because he would fold the turn so that leaves two pair plus and diamonds for value.

It’s honestly pretty rare to see people turn a pair into a bluff, although this is obviously a good time to do it.

I think this is a pretty straightforward call. He bets a Qx when checked to him on flop. There are plenty of suited diamond combos that he can flat UTG+3 but the a, q and j block so many of them. So he has as many TT/99 and 77 as diamond combos that make sense here and might take his line.

Turn bet just has to be bigger here. AP I’m calling getting 7-2 expecting to beat a mid pair at least half the time.

Ok thanks, I did call and got shown the bad news.

However, I’m confused on how to approach the turn bet bc I was trying to pot control. The Sb 20% of the time was a full on maniac, and could have 48o here. And they would c/r almost any gutter ott, Then jam river and I had no desire to play for stacks with on a wet board with a marginal hand.

Should I have just checked again?

I probably fold river, he has a bunch of medium flushes and probably A8/A6/A4 as well. But it's close for sure.

Turn sizing is smallish but still fine. And checking would be a mistake.

Turn x no good, just bet bigger.

Worth considering is betting the flop when bb/sb x to you. Only main V is behind. H has all TPTK and NFD. Your check behind kinda caps you and limits your turn options.

So turn weak blocker looks fishy and prices in draws. Miraculously, H gets HU anyway. Had H bet flop, he probably could've barreled everyone out on this brickish turn (only 75 got there).
