. So this ended up costing me $27 I was mad initially that I did not get a lot of time but probably was the right fold against the range of hands the more i think about it.

Did he know he was trying to fold you off a chop? Is that the right play in his shoes? Pretty high risk for 27 bucks.

I am pretty sure he thought he was good when he shoved though me talking to myself in the tank he may have figured out I had j9.

I guess that is the optimal way to get me off a chop though if I was him would of called the 25 to keep weaker hands in.

The fact that it's 3-handed has to change the dynamic somewhat. OP didn't say how this game was going, but I imagine, any pair, much less top pair, much less any straight has to be much stronger than in a full ring game. Therefore, there's no way I fold a straight with 2 hole cards in a heads up game.
