just now i encountered something i never knew/thought of. in my home game lots of people bluff and lots of them just muck their hand when called. i'll quote from wikipedia:

"..Because the act of folding a losing hand rather than showing it down is so common, some players can take advantage of others who do this with a rare play called a call-bluff. For example, if you know that a player always folds rather than showing his hand if he was bluffing, you might call his last bet even with a hand inferior to the one you suspect him of bluffing with, expecting that he will simply fold before he sees that you don't actually have him beat."

sounds like an interesting tactic. anyone ever tried this out?

Even if this worked 90% of the time I wouldn't want to risk the 10% of the time a 'HE CALLED ME WITH JAAAACK HIIIIIIGH' ensued.

Just raise-all in if you think he's bluffing but you have crap yourself.

try it out. If you remotely think it will work for you, then this forum isnt going to be of help at all.

Sounds like a great home game.

Most public rooms require you to show your hand to collect the pot. You'll be able to make this move at best once and have to fight off the other player from scrambling to get his cards back.

I have called playing the board before twice. First tim 56789 the bettor accidently mucked and i scooped with 63, the other i call a bet with kq on a at8 t board, river 8 and i call again, he almost mucks facedown but shows 92o for the chop...
