Hero ???

Playing against a fairly active Asian gentleman who likes to get involved in a lot of pots. He has been playing a lot of hands with sizable bets on each street, but I have yet to see him win any of these pots.

As played, with this many people in the pot I expect someone to connect and bet with the intention of check raising. When this particular opponent calls I anticipate all Kx, Tx and open ended straight draws to continue.

The turn is not my favorite card, but shouldn't change very much. I can discount AK and Q9 due to the action preflop and on the flop respectively. I would always expect a raise pre with AK and never expect Q9 to call a sizable raise.

What kind of sizing should I use here? I want to set up for a river jam, but still charge all potential pair + straight/flush draws the maximum and get value from any two pair or pair combos.

Fold pre, lead flop.

As played I go $250.

Unless table and UTG is very passive with very little preflop raising you should fold low pairs in EP. You should lead flop more then check/raise but for the occasional mix it up it's fine.

On the turn any reasonable bet will leave you with a less then pot sized stack to shove on the river. I like $250 also as the Js makes the board dangerous.

This turn is going to hit him with 2 pair or an oesd often. I think we want to size up with our value heavy range. 300

I think a fold pre depends on the game. Most of the 2/5 games I play in don't have a 3B but every 10 - 20 hands. That 3B is usually KK+ or it came from me and might be as little as 56s.

I can limp small pockets and confidently expect I won't get raised or if I do, the deep stacks will justify calling a $40 - 50 bet.

But there are games I play in where the normal action merits folding small pockets in EP because I'm not going to play them as a call against an expected $80 - $120 3B or 4B.

Think we are still in good shape to get value. Behind 3 combos of TT, and let’s give him 4 AQs, though these are likely to raise pre.

Ahead of 12 QJ combos and 9 KT combos, those these might 3B flop at a decent frequency, and 3 of KQs.

$260.
