Bottom Set on Flush Turn

Hey there- first post here- be nice...I'm trying to work on my game and figure posting hands here is one of the best ways. This happened to me today at a 1-2 game in a card room.

Hero: generally unknown at the room, but has been running hot and is up a few BIs

Villain: only been sitting down 2 orbits but already won a few big hands. Seems like everyone in the room knows him and my superficial judgment was that he was a solid player.

Hero and Villain are deepest players at table- both with about $600.

Table is 7 handed.

Hero is UTG+1 With 22 folded to hero, raises to $7
Villain Calls from SB
BB also calls

Flop ($21) 24K

SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $15, SB Raises to $35 BB folds, Hero Raises to $100, Villain thinks for quite awhile then calls.

Turn ($221) 10

Villain leads out for $150. Hero?

Only hand you can beat is K10 combos or AK combos unless you know his range is wider.

With wet flops like this, I don't like to blow the pots up until after the turn, I don't like the 100 raise, but that's me.

Tough one...As played a fold on turn seems ok....If you call are you prepared to call $200-$250 on river? If not it's def a fold....Feels like a flush is taking you to value town....a K4 type of hand is not out of the question here with him in small blind though....I still likely find a fold as deep as you are...

Re: Bottom Set on Flush Turn

I did end up folding. His call of the $100 screams FD to me... If he did have AK/K4/K10 I would think he'd have a hard time leading for $150 when the flush comes in. Guess it would be a great bluff on his part if he puts me on a set/overpair, but I could also easily have the flush since I was playing pretty LAG...

Curious about Toomin's dislike of the $100... Do you think just call there? If I have a set on a FD board I want to make the villain pay to draw, no? Maybe the $100 was too small?

In my previous post I was asking if you would call 200-250 if board didn't pair on the river.....I tried to edit but it didn't go th

I wasn't going to call any more money with the flush out there. That's why I folded the turn. If he made a small bet on Turn like $50 or something- maybe I would have called- then had to fold a big river bet.

With his call here, villain has way too many Kcxc hands here. There's a lot of other combo draw hands too like a3cc 56cc 35cc even

This isn't really a wet flop. Raising is the move but I'd go bigger. Probably $125. Get value for your set and deny villain the odds to draw.

OP I think you played it fine. Without further information on villain when he leads the turn it's a sigh fold. Give him credit for what he's repping.
