Game: Live 2/5
Hand: 33
Position: MP
Stack: 500$

Villain: Unknown 30yo who just sat down 2 hands ago, looks to know the regulars since he has been talking non-stop since he sat down. (500$, UTG+1)

Preflop Action: Limped to me, I call, BTN raises to 30$, 6 way to the flop. (180$)
Flop: T63
Action: BB open shoves his last 160$ (weak OMC), V shoves 470$ while talking about other things, wasn’t attentive during the early action of this hand. Folded to me...

Can I ever find a fold here? Or is it just a snap call?

I couldn't find a fold. Set over set is such a small percentage of the time. The only other hand ahead of you at this point equity wise is what 45cc? And even if the flush or straight comes in you can still fill up.
With 6 people seeing the flop making the pot $180 headed to the flop now I really think it's a call.

You call $30 preflop to play for stacks when you catch a set. No backing out now. Not on that board.

Call that all day long.

Call. I don't think I can ever find a fold on the flop 100 BBs deep when I flop a set and the only thing that beats me is another, higher set. Fact that there are a ton of draws out there only makes it more likely I'm calling. If you're playing at a table where people are only getting in $500 with a better set, then your mistake was calling pre-flop. Sorry you got coolered.

PF: OK, although not a fan of limp/calling raises when there is still action behind me. I would of rather just raised myself.

F (180): SPR is 2.6. Never folding here for a buy-in. Now if stacks were much deeper, then it would 'may' be different. Snap call.

Never folding. Villains have too many overpair and semibluff combos to correctly fold.

I'm trying to figure why I was that concern he had a set. I actually tanked a while and even after the hand I wasn't sure I had made a good call (even if he showed KTo lol).

Now I see it's an obvious call. Thanks for confirming.

This spot is always a snap call with a set at 100bbs.

The guy jammed $500 with KTo? Make sure to put a tracking device on this guy.

Yep aha, turns out he was a complete donkey, even calling river shoves with crap. One hand he lost his hole 1300$ stack with A high, calling a 800$ river shove.

Good luck in Sunday's game Cam. My $$ is on you.

I think this is a great post because it highlights a common problem in many people's game...seeing monsters on every street. I do it, and have probably folded badly a few times. But part of becoming a hawk at the tables is the fearlessness to call a huge bet like that. You just have to tune out the noise, and trust your gut.

Glad you got your $$$ in good. He shoved w/ KTo?

His problems are not your problems.

And yeah, make sure he plays in your game often.

Thanks! Really looking forward for Sunday night aha!

Yes I know, I made the mistake of being scared to lose a 2/5 BI since I'm just taking shot there, but if I'm scared it just mean I'm not ready. And that is why I almost folded. Next time I'll make sure to be ready to lose a BI before sitting a the table!

Don't worry I'll be looking for him aha.. Unfortunately he's just a rec and is not there often
