My normal game is 1-3 no max buyin and sometimes I play places that have 1-2 $200 max. Never played in a 2-2 with $200 max but this game was just added at my casino. You guys find games at any different if the small blind is the same as the big blind? Opens just need to be a bit bigger but closer to 1- 2 than 1-3?

Table dynamics dictate the size of the open more than the blind sizes.

I've sat at 2/5 games where the normal open was ~$20, same as some of the deeper 1/3 games I've played at another casino. Since you technically have 2 limpers in a 2/2 game, you might have to size it up a little bigger like you said, just so you don't end up 5-ways to the flop every time you open raise.

Granted I've never played at a game where SB and BB are the same, but I doubt it makes too much difference compared to other factors like table dynamics and stack sizes.

In most situations it won't make a noticeable difference. Theoretically open raises should be slightly higher but at 2-2 it will be smaller then the adjustments you make for how loose the table is.

The oddities arise when it's folded around to LP because the button is priced in to play just about anything given 2-1 odds and position. This encourages late position limps and bluff raises, causing the blinds to play back more. It can create some weird bluffy play in LP. I don't know how much difference it will make at 2-2 though, I've only ever seen it at 5-5 and 10-10.
