1/2 at Hollywood Casino STL. This table is really loose, with a ton of action. V has been very active at this table.

V is in middle position, and Hero is on the button. Hero has about $600, and V covers me.

Very loose player UTG raises to $12, V calls, one other caller, Hero calls on the button with J9. UTG has me covered, so I am looking to see a flop and if I hit big, I have a lot of implied odds.

Pot is about $48.

Flop is KQ9 Hero flops a pair and a gutshot and a backdoor heart draw.

UTG bets $25, V calls, Hero calls

Pot is $123

Turn is the 10 giving Hero a straight.

UTG checks, V checks, Hero bets $50, UTG folds, V raises to $100, Hero calls.

Pot is now $323

River is the 4

V leads out for $200. What should Hero do?

He can be very loose but unless he’s insane he also has a jack. Better hope he doesn’t also have that ace. I think you should have folded to the flop bet.

Flop call is fine

You can fold to the min raise from a standard 1/3 loose passive. Always AJ.

Against a pro you can find some calls here.

Against a loose open & a call I think this is perfect hand to 3bet OTB when deep, make it $55. As played flop is a pretty loose call, your almost always behind one of the players & can often be behind 2. OTT I size slightly bigger ($75) to get value from sets/two pairs & flush draws. Once he check/raises we can only ever call. OTR im pretty sure were calling to chop or loose to AJ...

how is the table reacting to 3 bets? if folding a lot, then 3 bet and collect dead money, otherwise i like the pf call

turn you are chopping at best, seems like a fold

Just fold this turn to min raise when the 10 isnt a heart. Your most likely chopping at best and the super small amount of times you are ahead(if ever) villians not putting another chip in.

Spoiler:
This was a pretty tough spot. Against this player, I thought that he's bluffing 10% of the time, 50% of the time he has AJ and 40% of the time he had a J and was trying to get me off a chop.

10% of the time I win 523
50% of the time I lose $200
40% of the time I win $61 (chopping a $523 pot)

EV value is 52 - 100 + 24 = -24.....so I wasn't getting the right odds to call.

I folded. V said....."good laydown" and showed AJ of clubs. V had the nut flush draw and a gutter on the flop.

Are those percentages based on any combinatorics, or did they just come deep from within your anal cavity? The math is right, but if you just make up the inputs, the answer is meaningless. What hands does he have that he over-values or turns into bluffs? How may other Jx hands play this way? How about AJ combos?

I thin folding the turn would have been fine here. I think you're probably beat a lot more often than your estimate. When one player gets aggressive vs. a face up 1-card straight, they seem to always have the nuts.
