5/5NL

LJ= 500; crazy old white lady postflop; will shove entire stack when checked to with any draw
CO = 2k; 60's E European guy sitting on a massive stack; seems to play pretty tight pre but solid postflop

folds to LJ who opens to 15
H in HJ 3b 99 to 55
CO cold calls, LJ folds
Flop 864 (125)
H 80, CO calls
Turn K (285)
V readies a big stack of chips to my left
H 145, CO calls
River 3x (560)
I check, CO snaps 500
I go deeeeep into the tank...

Is this a spot where, being OOP, I should bet small OTR to avoid getting bluffed by draws here?

from a theory POV blocking the river with your exact hand actually isn't that bad.

we block 79 and some club draws so it's more likely he has a weak showdown hand that is going to check back the river if checked to.

in actual practice I'm checking river and probably hero'ing this based on live reads if I'm getting the same feel you are.

guy grabbing chips preemptively typically screams please dont bet and let me draw for free.

followed by snap river shove when checked to is more often than not pretty weak.

inb4 lol live reads. I'm not loving it but I love to hero and fk this guy

I also misread the PF action and didn't realize he cold called a 3-bet. This feels even more like a nut flush draw now to me

Don't necessarily love the 3bet. Is she raising a lot or mostly limping? The craziness is mostly post-flop, I understand?

I guess I don't mind the flop bet, but I'm check/folding both turn and river. What am I missing here? How is this such a tough spot?

Once called OTF and the K hitting turn, I don’t see what you beat except some NFDs that cold-called a 3b (unlikely).

Sorry, it was not a shove OTR. I started hand about 900 and he had me covered.

I really considered calling river, but I am just not a fan of making pot sized calls OTR at these stakes. Smaller sizing might get a call out of me.

OTT, card is better for my range and I still want to get value from draws/p+d

Spoiler:
He showed me the Ac. When I told him it was a good bluff, he put on a speech about having AKcc. That may be true as I don't see V cold calling my tight image 3b with A5cc type hands here.
