Borgata 1/2 3pm friday, I have about 250 and raised to 12 with A Q from the cutoff after 2 limpers. BB calls (300 stack), as well as both EP limpers. We see a flop of A 5 10 It checks to me and I bet 25. BB calls and 1 of the limpers (stack 200). Turn 10 Both check to me and I bet 45. Both call. River 8 Ep checks I check and BB goes all in for about 200. Ep folds and so do I.

Questions. My standard raise after 2 limpers in this game was $12. I was lost the entire table to a raise of 15-18 earlier, so I lowered it. Although 12 often got me 3-5 callers, I d rather have that than 0. Is anyone sticking with the bigger raise to 15-18 to cut down the callers to maybe even 0? I feel like 12 was getting some pretty bad starting hands to continue.

Post flop I am happy with my bet size to get value. My experience, a bet of 25+ on a flop in 1-2 often only gets better hands to continue. I often lose too many people betting more than 50% of the pot. Anyone going larger just to charge the draws? I feel like that loses value.

Turn play. This is really where I am uncomfortable. The pot is about 120, my plan was to bet small to get a worse A to continue as well as the draws, but not to bet big and only have a 10 to continue. And fold if raised.

Should I be checking for pot control instead here? I feel like I am giving the flush and straight draws a free card if I do that.

Thanks.

I'd probably go a little more pre over a couple of limps bc AQ you'd prefer to get HU more often than 4 way. Opening to 18 at 1-2 makes things too shallow and too narrow too quickly.
Id value bet this turn at borg 1-2 as well and sizing is good.

Check/fold turn

Your bet sizing of 15-18 after 2 limpers is probably fine depending on what the table dynamics are. Was that the standard open size? You probably got folds because of hand strength rather than bet size.

I like to train the table to be comfortable with bigger raises. I start with 15 + 2 per raiser (though I'll vary on what I'm trying to accomplish with the raise). If everyone folds to that size, I'll reduce until I get callers, but once people are calling 12 + 2 per raiser (or whatever I have to go down to), I start increasing it. V's get grumpy constantly having to fold to my too-big raises, so they start being willing to call bigger ones. In extreme cases, there is no limit to this. I once played someone that would call any PFR or RR up to 95 (19BB). (Yes, I really was able to determine that 100 got folds while 95 never did). Of course, he smashed every flop with junk and I got my ass handed to me, but that's not the point.
