Hey everyone what is the best possible strategy if there is one in particular for live cash games where the maximum buy in is $200 for 1/2 stakes? Im kind of a passive player but I want to know if there is a way to maximize profits. Please no negative people, just looking for advice as Im going to the local Hard Rock tonight to play a little.

this is likely going to get flamed, but then again..for starters, aggressive poker is winning poker. play fewer hands, but play it more aggressively as they either lose to your better hand or fold thinking you have the better hand

You're asking for an answer to a question that is too broad to be addressed in a single post. Once you have more time, take a look into the stickies especially for live play. Good luck on your future session

Exploitative...

You are looking for a simple answer when there is none. The easiest answer is to pay attention to all details. Remember/write down/record (phone/tablet) as much information as you can and use that history to react to each player's actions in that session.

You will notice if you work on your game that players will post a hand and 3 good players will have 3 different ideas.

Try this..... Play at Hard Rock. Post 1 hand with every piece of information that you can remember/recorded.

Good luck.

The game is much more complex than you realize. You're looking for a clear, easy answer when it doesn't exist.

Best possible strategy is to identify what sort of players your opponents are, what their hand ranges are, what their bet sizing means, and play accordingly.

I would employ a "NO limping strategy" simply limit your preflop actions to Fold, cold calling open raises, open raising yourself and 3betting. try and only play up to 15% of hands dealt. Almost always be In position unless your dealt your top 5% of hands which basically play themselves... Be observant and most importantly be aggressive. There is a lot of other things that go into a winning poker strategy but I would say this will be a good Start.

Need to be somewhat aggressive unless you're playing maniacs. Read the book beat the donks it'll get you started in the right direction at the 1/2 tables

Sounds like you know you should be less passive, so start there.

No-one can bring you up to speed in order to start winning tonight if you're currently not good enough.

As far the 'best' strat goes for low stakes live games, if such a thing could be observed, the descriptions used would likely be 'TAG' and 'highly exploitative'.

This is pretty bad advice IMO. At this level there are so many limped pots you get to see tons of cheap flops. Having this as a blanket strategy is just throwing away potential money.

Welcome to the forum, OP, but please read the stickies. This type of thread is particularly forbidden. This is largely because it is unanswerable, as game conditions vary so much.
