1/2 NL playing playing 450 effective.

This has been a tough game full of thinking players. At this point I’ve been opening up my range in position but playing fairly tight other wise.

Hand starts with action folding to the cut off who has been playing a very LAG style. He check raises often post flop and limp 3 bets often pre. He limps and hero opens A5dd on the button to 12. Villain calls and we are off to a flop.

Flop is 2d3dKs. Hero bets 15. Villain calls.

Turn Td- hero bets 35. Villain raises 125. At this point I’m in the tank figuring if I should smooth call and get it in on the river or just jam now. I was thinking he had a smaller flush, 2 pair, or sets. There is also the possibility he has nothing at all. He’s a good aggressive player and I wasn’t sure the best line to get max value for my nut flush.

What is your line as the hand is played?

Definitely just flat in position to keep his bluffs in. Snapping all rivers.

if the guy now bluffs the river that seems really spewy to me. But the dude sounds spewy. So maybe you're right.

On the other hand, there is still plenty behind. If he checks a good hand on the river we might not get it all. He probably calls off with sets and stuff here.

On the whole I think raising is better. You could shove but I might coax a guy like this along. Like go 150 more now and 150 all in on the river so he keeps thinking he has odds to call or whatever reasoning he comes up with.

Turn is a snap call, dont raise esp vs a lag who might donk off his stack on rivers

All his value hands bet river anyway unless a diamond falls.

Probably true. But while he does sound spewy, our call still should be kind of worrying to him. If he does bet, it might be a bet fold, even though that would be kinda awkward. I'd rather just get us both committed now.

A diamond on the river happens pretty often. In my estimation, more often than he bluffs the river. Maybe that's a good reason to just move in here, rather than trying to milk him.

Anyway, what happened on the table, op?

Turn 3! over a c/r looks too strong to me. We have position on a LAG who's showing aggression, and about a PSB behind on the river if we just call. I just flat and see the river.

Given his image why would he play a flopped set so passively? I think that's unlikely. Probably a smaller flush or 2P or a bluff on the diamond. I think raising turn is a mistake. I think call and try to get it in on river if he doesn't.

I guess it depends how spewy the guy really is.

Most people respond to lags by battoning down the hatches and waiting for them to blast their whole stacks into the nuts.

If they are decent, they know this and rarely accommodate. They actually tend to nut pedal when the big money goes in to capitalize on their bluffy image.

But there are certainly people who will blast off.

Anyway, my best guess is that if he is bluffing, he is finished. If he has a made hand or thinks he has equity I want to get money in now.

Sorry for the late response I go caught up with work.

Really appreacoate the input. So i went in to the tank for a good minute. We had history this session.. he had bluffed me in a big pot. I had gotten my money back calling him light in a couple spots after that. So as I thought I noticed he looked very comfortable. I thought he had a good hand that would get the money in now. I shoved having him covered. Eventually after a long tank he folded top two pair face up. Thinking on the hand and reading responses I think I miss played the turn and could have gotten it in easily on the river.
