Playing 1/2 THR and a middle aged Asian guy was straddling 100% of the time. It makes the $100 max buyin even worse as essentially it's only 25bb now 80% of the time.

I was 4 seats behind the straddler and the only person at the table who was showing pre-flop aggression was 2 seats right of the straddler. The straddler was also willing to fold preflop to a raise most of the time. The rest of the table was mostly weak-tight or passive fit or fold post flop.

I just started playing ultra tight but was getting cold cards so I basically was folding most of the time.

Is that the right move in that situation?

short tables= tighten up and be ultra aggressive when you do open. There shouldn't be much folding going on once you've opened the hand, but that should only be with the top of your range. The exception is if the entire table is just folding to any raise. Then you can pick spots and take the $7 at a time.

The best thing to do is get away from a $100 buyin cap game.

it depends on the rest of the table....
basically there is more dead money in the pot...that makes weak tight play even more costly....
If players are limp folding...or limp calling and playing fit or fold on the flop...then lag it up...its even more profitable...

otherwise...tighten up and play supper aggressive (as suggested above).
