Long time lurker.. recently registered. 1st post on twoplustwo.
Just got back from a fun 4 day Vegas trip (Played at Bellagio/Aria - mainly 2/5). Had wanted to do a trip report but in the excitement of Vegas poker, didnt keep great notes

Took a shot at Bellagio 5/10.
Bought in for 450 initially.. made some loose check calls & stack dwindled down to 250 or such. Added 5 bills then to play serious poker.

Will post this hand with perspective of Hero & am the villain.

Eff Stack size
Hero $1000+
Button: $1000
Villain ~$800

Hero (99) in middle position raises to $35.
Button calls.
SB folds
BB (villain) calls.

Flop
934 (broadway)

BB checks,
Hero bets $65
Button ponders & then calls,
BB calls

Turn
10 (Board shows 2 spades now)
Hero bets $125
Button calls
BB (thinks for a few & seems to be murmuring to himself & calls)

River offsuit 5 (flush didn't get there)
BB thinks for 10 seconds and shoves all-in (~475)

Hero - what to do?

Will post results later.

Turn bet looks way too small ($125 into ~$300). River looks like a very easy shove.

Easy call imo.

Why are you short stacking the Bellagio game?

Thats not serious

So the picture you've painted is that BB has 65s or A2s and now you want to know what? You haven't described anything that could help anyone saying anything. It's obvious he thinks he has the nuts and it's doubtful he's thinking "lol pot odds" on the turn w something that makes him 2p so I don't really know what you wanna know.

I had been playing in the table for about 45 minutes before this hand came up. As I had mentioned, am the villian in this hand. So far my play was weak with some check calls & folding to some reraises. Looked like a typical tourist fish in the game (probably am . I only play live once a year if I can squeeze in a Vegas trip.

Regarding playing short stack, it's worked for me.

Typically buy in for 50BBs in a game.. take some chances early on to double up and play serious. If I bust, buy in for 50-60BBs again. If I bust, mostly done for the night.

So far that technique has worked for me

Btw.. I love 2p2.. feels like a great support system. Reason for joining 2p2, no one from my personal/real life plays poker and knows how to so unable to discuss some of the delicacies of this wonderfully interesting game.

Will post soon on what Villian (aka I had) and what Hero did?

My read is that you are a better lurker than a poster.

No need. You had 67 and Hero shoved and then berated you.

No need. You had 67 and Hero folded and claimed that he had 99.

yes, i had 67.. i was contemplating the turn call since i hit a double gut shot (5 or a 8). I was also planning on shoving if flush card fell. & yes Hero called..

But thanks for the feedback. I def need to improve my posting skills.

hahaha only a fish would take this line, get paid and think it was good play because he got paid

You didnt even say your hand, and flop was 934 broadway? Broadway refers to straight... I think you meant to say rainbow . Anywho not trying to deter you from future posts I was just confused
09-21-2014 , 09:14 PM
yup. rainbow.. as you can see am a total noob.. But 'E' for effort.

Welcome to the forum Desi.

Flop pre, fold flop, call turn, c/r river.

As far as buy in goes.

Buy in for whatever you feel comfortable for. Bellagio 5/10 is pretty soft IMO so I would buy in for more.

Welcome o the fora, OP. Unfortunately, this first thread isn't working out too well for you, as MHFR isn't very used to new folks. It got moved to LLSNL, but we have a policy against "reverse HHs" in which the hero and V are reversed. They tend to get very confused and/or antagonistic responses, as you've seen above.

I'm going to lock this before it devolves. As for your (OP's, not "Hero's) line, Kyle Saunders has it right.
