Being a bad card shuffler Being a bad card shuffler

I was thinking a little: could this be a nice thing to use to change your image to other people?

if you're playing a home game and it's your turn to shuffle, if you do it poorly(not mixing well the cards, showing a very poor dexterity on it), people could confuse you with a poor player, right?

since you play so few hands live, it could be a nice way to disguise yourself as a bad poker player(also bringing with yourself a tutorial of the strength of the hands in hold'em) lol.

i'm a bad shuffler myself because i was a pokemon card player, the worse you shuffled your cards the better(since the evolutions such as squirtle, warturtle and blastoise could stay toguether, giving you advantage in the game) LOL

people usually think that i'm extremely bad when i play live at the first glance, then i take their monies and they still can't erase the image of my bad shuffling and being a fish :-D

Poor shufling can shifts the odds, and can be used to cheat, or be cheated with.

Think about it. What ever the board was last hand and the cards that showed up on the river...are all going to be clumped together.

out of those 9 to 11 cards, say you saw 4 kings. Guess what likely to come up on the turn or river if a K on the board and you did not shuffle well.

Just a thought....

Years ago, over on the blackjack forums, there was interest in tracking face-card-rich blocks through a shuffle. There was one study however that showed that shuffling doesn't affect outcomes. That's right; in blackjack, you might as well not shuffle at all.

The theory is that, in blackjack, you only muck a small percentage of cards at one time, and then lay that block into a tray. The problem with that theory is that you're supposed to deal out the whole deck; in that case, the act of dealing the cards shuffles the deck. (Of course, casino's never deal out the whole deck; that's how they cheat).

In a full ring poker game, you muck half the deck. Mucking of course shuffles the cards. If you never shuffled, or if at most you just cut the deck once, you would be able to track an enriched deck. I guess I could use this in a blackjack game (assuming the penetration % is 50 or less) but am less sure how this would be used in poker. Plus, any degree of shuffling would destroy that block.

In a short-handed poker game, I could see how it might be possible to track a block of cards through a careless shuffle. However, the degree of concentration required would no doubt interfere with my drinking.

Yeah I'm locking it. In a home game, you play against the same people all the time. They'll figure out after a while that you're leaving with the money most of the time and not care about whether you can shuffle or not.

Biggest tell in finding decent players is whether they can value bet. You can't hide your bets.
