Transitioning from the games was difficult at first but it only required a change in style. At 1/2 I could be a lagtard and be profitible and my image would always get me paid off. At 2/4 I tightened up a bit but sometimes the table plays so passive that being a lagtard 50% of the time is highly profitible and helps with the image.

Finding ways to become the table captain is the best way to make money, and if its not possible getting involved with the table captain with a wider range than normal in position should always be a good situation. Look for those that are isolationing, 3betting light, barreling and figure out a plan to bluff them out or call down light and put them on tilt when they don´t tighten up.
I almost never see table captains in my game. 95% only raise 88+, AQo+, AQs+. Its a limp call or just regular limp table.

I haven't read this entire thread, so this may have come up already. To me, table selection is a huge factor in deciding what stake to play. I wouldn't call myself a reg at any stake. My live play is divided almost evenly between 1/2, 2/4or5, and 5/5.

Typically at my home casino 1/2 and 2/5 runs. On average a 1/2 table will have 2-3 bad regs, 2-3 nits, 2-3 fish and 1 solid reg.The 2/5 will have 1-2 bad regs, 2-3 solid regs, 1 fish, 1-2 nits.

Given this selection I would much rather play the 1/2 table. I move up if a 5/5 or 5/10 opens and 1-2 of the solid regs leave the 2/5 table.

I'm locking this because it is really just meandering all over the place. It really can be answered by this.

Bottom line is this, and it correlates with Princess Azulas post as well. Successful online (and live) players run up thru the ranks to a saturation point fairly quickly for one reason. They work at it.
FTQ.

You can't just read about it. Nor is the human mind such that you can take 100 concepts at once and implement all of them successfully. It takes a lot of work to make a new concept a part of your game. If you haven't deliberately set out in a series of sessions to try out something new that you read, you can't claim to understand the concept.
