Ok, very game dependant of course...when to barrell...

So, against thinking/but loose players, how profitable is it to double and triple barrel?

I had tough game yesterday, where 3bets were being cold called from donks(villian1). One guy was fairly decent post flop(villian2), but villian1 was just not in a folding mood.

So I decided against the guy not in a folding mood that I wasnt going to double and triple barrel, as I had been cbetting, and they were not having any luck...

And against villian2, I had been cbetting, or maybe check the flop, and barrel the turn.

So after establishing some cbets and turn bets with obviously nothing, as they won at showdown, is it possible to set up a triple barrel? Like play the hand as if I had KK or AA? Just fire every street hard? (not against the donk, but villian2)

It just seems like I am printing money by raising, and then firing a cbet, and stopping when I am called. against villian1, I felt ok stopping, because he was never folding. But once he left, villian 2 was calling every raise, and seemed like he always outflopped me....

So when you know they hit a piece of the flop, do you pick hands to double and triple barrel and if so, is it just always based on flop texture, or is there just times when you triple barrel and apply the pressure...

I felt I was setup to get paid when I hit a hand, as i was not winning a lot of pots, but I was having a hard time finding something to go to valuetown with...

If you haven't seen the villain fold on the turn or river after calling a flop bet with the turn and/or river being blanks, don't barrel. You need evidence that the villain can fold before trying to bluff them at LLSNL.

These guys are calling every hand? Stop making cbets. Bet for value when you hit, don't bet when you miss.

The adjustment here is to increase your value betting range and barrel with that; Not to bluff calling stations 3 times in one hand.

My rule is - if I do cbet, I double barrel a lot, but triple barrel fairly infrequently. The reason is that so many people will peel with second or bottom pair, and release when they don't improve. A lot of people will release their draws on the turn as well.

The only times I like to triple barrel without a hand is when it looks *a lot* like they have a draw, and I can't beat ace high. In that case, I like to make a very smallish bet that looks like a value bet -- it doesn't have to work often to be profitable... Occasionally I'll triple barrel bigger when I'm pretty sure they have top pair/weak kicker, they don't seem pleased about calling the turn bet, and I know they're capable of folding.

Yea, thats kind of my rule. I hate being a one barrel monkey. Might as well save that $$, because they do peel light. I guess the question is, should I be the one to find out where their pain threshold is. Sure, they are playing donkish like, but have they really had to call three tough bets with 2nd or 3rd pair on every street?

I guess I am trying to find the thin line the donks have between calling and folding. Sure, they are calling down with 2nd and 3rd pair, but in my opinion, they are trying to catch two-pair, and a lot of opponents just are quick to give up, so they get to the river, and they arent going to fold at that point, so yes, technically, the donks are playing correctly, because they are not meeting a lot of resistance.

So, I guess my question is, although we have seen some "donkish" behavior, is it +EV to try and shoot for a good double or triple barrel to see what they will call down with? the alternative, is wait for a hand, but like Antonio says, "its hard to make a pair in hold em"
