Hello everyone!
Finally joined the form. And this my first try at posting a new treat.
I would greatly appreciate any feed backs on the below questions.
Thank you!
Little information on me:
Been playing poker for fun and loosing Mulla for about cannot remember how long, maybe 10 years!! Do not ask me how much because I have no clue.
From -$XXX in average losses, or 30bb per session losses at 10bb-30bb an hour or to about break even including the timed seat rental fees at about $10 an hour in South Texas.
I am still not profitable on even the lowest stake online poker cash games (Mainly because of the problem with boredom) and much prefer a live cash game setting. Just a personal preference.
Finally last year started to learn/study/solver/Flopzilla/CrazyZilla etc. more things and study pretty much every day from 2 to 12 hours.
My biggest problem have been more on Mental and Phycological part of the game.
For example;
Someone being just out-right nasty with me on the table then my reaction -- will show that person with my skill with 54s on the flop with flush draw by going all in on their C-bet.
Yes, no longer have this issue.
Certainly, that tilt problem has been resolved to 90+ percent, yes I still do tilt, from 90 percent tilt to this controlled and manageable 10 percent is a gift from heaven. Its never-ending process and improvements, work in progress.
Right now, my biggest problem is this. OR leak on my cash game.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks again.
Around 66 to 75 percent of sessions are like this:
Max buyin for the session is 2.
1st buy in between 80-120bb at 1/3 cash game. This is usually at one of the local poker rooms with 9 seats and time rental fee of around $10 an hour.
At that 66-75 percent level, I am able to find the correct spot within 30-60 min to double the stack to around let's say from 80bb to 160bb
At about 50 percent rate within next 1 hour or so able to add another 80- 150 bb to the current stack.
ex: 80bb then 160b then 270bb.
Now let us say my current stack size is around 270bb. I would be a forever solid winning poker player, seriously not saying this just for the sake of it,
however, my personality, knowing only way to grow and step into the next stage is to challenge myself more, and that usually about 70 percent of the time causes me to make a mistake, sometimes it is the variance, buy mostly its me making a huge or marginal mistake. Either case, result is loss of all or about half of the stack then usually I leave and go home. Going over the hand over and over in my head.
And other 30 percent of the time it maybe in average only improves to 200bb more.
At 470bb max and at this point I am like, no no no, you must go home now. I hear you that might be a bankroll problem.
This is my BIGGEST current problem. Any, any general suggestions, or specific suggestions??? I can provide more details if needed.
Yes, I have default set ranges for pre-flop, RFI , 3 bet F/C/, 4-bet, slow play, bluff aggressive, adjust according to stack sizes, type of opponent and position.
AND maybe thinking my over aggression may be the number one problem.
Specially if there is big draw like GS plus Nut Flush and facing a Passive player. Or even LAGs. Not sure.
Here are my approximate stats: with Table is GOOD and My seat is GOOD.
80-120bb (TAG 30 LAG 50 LP 10 NIT 5) this is usually first 30 min specially if I am not too knowledgeable about other players. But if there is profitable all in then willing to risk the whole stack. Like fold equity + pot odds is +EV, and correlates with SPR , V's type, my image on the table,....
250bb ++ EP( TAG 50 LAG 40 LP 5 NIT 5) LP (TAG 40 LAG 60 LP 5 NIT 5)
As the stack gets deeper my range in OP gets very polarized (like first 3 positions) and wider than usual IP play, specially at CO and BT more pairs set mind, suited connectors, AXs type hands, suited broadways.
Here is what might be the problem. Well, it is like 80 percent of the problem. It is crazy, not feeling too smart typing this question, as I am answering it myself.
Getting overconfident slightly, need more practice on intuitiveness regards to range vs range equity, definitely need to study more flops with Flopzilla, pre-flop must be too wide or maybe not the correct type of hands against this particular type/stack/position, and being too aggressive on the RIVER & TURN and suddenly acquiring little more God’s gift of soul reading abilities, (ok I am kidding, well 90 percent) basically, not easily giving up a hand. (Just because of the combinations 70% fav 30 unfav)
Maybe missing some fundamental parts. Flop 3b-1v Turn 1v-b River 2v-1b not sure how to adjust these Frequencies properly. Or just tighten up the Pre-FLOP range and be a TP nit for the rest of my life and get a job at Walmart to great people at the front entrance. Good morning.
No bad wishes to NITs out there, respect for all the unlimited patience.
Just not my preferred style.
