1 / 3 No Limit

Low jack stack size around $180, Has been limping most hands, had been calling most C-bets, and then gave up on the turn.

Button stack size around $280. Just sat down seemed to be playing tight, not many reads

Hero on BB: K 8 off stack size around $430. Running good and had been getting paid off in spots where I had the nuts.

Low jack and button limp, SB folds, BB checks

Flop comes: K 8 2 rainbow
Pot size = $10

Hero BB checks
Lj Bets $8, Button folds, Hero calls

Turn comes 9
Pot size $26

Hero checks
Lj bets 18.
I check-raise to 55.
He tank folds.

I wanted him to call with a king and was trying to get more value out of him, I felt that my image in general during this session was slightly aggressive. Was this a bad spot to check raise. Too aggressive, should I have waited for the river? Just want some feedback.

With you holding the top 2 cards and the remainder being a deuce the reality is that on that board he probably had absolutely nothing, or maybe something like 33-77 and was just auto-betting because he had a pair, so checking to let him bluff river is probably best.

I'd checkraise the flop because checkraising later streets is a line that is difficult to balance with bluffs.

+1. But don't beat yourself up: this flop is so dry and you smashed it , So its going to be difficult to get paid.

I would call turn with the intention of c/r a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, or K river, c/eval a 9, c/c 7, T, J, Q, A.

I'm fine with preflop.

I think I mostly just bet the flop and start going for value against Kx and start reevaluating if raised. If anyone is bluffy I don't hate a check on such a dry board (especially if we have a nit image). As played, I think I"m ok with just calling as a check/raise on this board is so strong and I think a lotta people will give up in a pot so small, plus I'm cool with inviting the other guy along.

As played, I would mostly donk the turn; I don't want it to check thru. As played, I just think a check/raise is so strong and mostly loses everything we want to continue with the possible exception of 98. As played, I would probably just call and donk the river.

Overall I think check/raising with two pair is the worst hand to do it with cuz mostly it folds worse and only gets better to call. Check/raising with a set is better (although I'd like still donk it) due to there being far more "good" hands (i.e. two pairs) that could continue.

I like an overbet lead otf, but a x/r might be better. x/c otf seems bad, but I suppose it depends.
