Hero is new to table. Maybe like 5 min. I came from another table. Mid twenties with a backwards bears hat and polite.
Villians-50 yr old man, looks like he's not broke. Nice watch etc. 182$. Hero covers.

Hand- 5 limps including villians in utg +1. Hero has AsQc and makes it 17. Heads up. Pot 40.

Flop 7d 4h 8d
I bet 20, villians calls. Pot-80
Turn-Ad hero bets 45 and villian calls what he thought was a 20 bet, then shrugs and puts in 25 more. Pot-170.
River-6h. Obvious straight draw comes in and hero bets 50. Villians insta all in for 52 more. Pot 270. 52 more for the hero who doesn't want to call but has to. Or do I? Critique all streets

If you want helpful responses, it would be good to provide more info. What position was Hero in (SB? BB?). I assume this is a 1/2 game, but that'd be nice to specify. Did Villain open-limp, or did UTG limp? Was his 20 call ott binding, or did he have the option to take it back and fold?

I'm not a fan of the 1/2 pot cbet in this spot. All you're doing is getting him to fold the hands that you crush. He's calling with all pairs and all mid SC.

Villian limped after utg. He didn't open limp.

I don't think his 20 was binding. Either leave it or put in another 25.

Sorry, my fault on the position question.

So, the over-limp puts more mid SCs & low pairs in his range. That makes me want to cbet flop even less. Ott, there are many hands in his range that have ~12-18 outs, and he can call the $45 turn bet correctly with all of them. I'd prefer to make it 60-65 and either plan to shove (~1/2 psb) any non-d river, or c/c any non-d river if he seems like the type who might turn an obviously beaten 3rd pair into a bluff.

I think you played it well until the river. Too thin a spot to get additional value, so I'd check and likely fold. I don't think a worse hand is calling with a flush on board, as well as a less likely straight.

Should my turn bet be more in this situation?

Yes. I'd go 60. I'd check fold river.

I don't see at any point where you thought about commitment or what you were gonna do on future streets. Seems to be the key. Any time you don't want to call an all in but have to something probably went awry.

I think you are definitely right spike. I just got set over set 20 min prior and looking back on it I wasn't thinking my best. I was just clicking buttons and being aggressive.

I was planning on giving up unless an A or Q on turn. Then I just went full dummy.
