Yes you could have played this hand better, but you are probably not going to like the answer haha. I think the best play here is to fold pre flop. You really don't want to play Ace Queen in first position against 4-5 other players, so unless you think a SB/UTG limp will isolate the pot or allow you to play 3 handed max, a fold is probably the most profitable option.

Against someone who is truly a tight player...when he bets that turn and river...yikes.

I'm probably folding the turn absent a read that villain loves to play Ax strong postflop.

It feels like you may be able to raise more preflop in this game.

you were already in a pretty bad shape with 5 way pot
you should check-call and reevaluate on the turn. when you bet into 5 players the flop then check the turn, you pretty much put your card face-up

your AQ at the river is only a bluff catcher.

I think on the flop I like:

x/eval >>>>>>>> bet small 60/200 >>>>>> bet 1/2+ PSB

what was the purpose of the 40 pre? in a game like that, it is very ulikely that anyone is ever going to fold.

it is great that you got those kind of odds on your money pre, but if you are trying to thin the field, make it 80.

OTT, I don't want to see anymore cards with a one pair hand anymore. I am going bet 500 OTT and either get our V to fold or shove.

as played, it really really really looks like your V has AJ. gettting 3:1, crying call I guess. but no shame in laying it down either.

make it 2 5/6 handed games, 11 handed is easily the most ******ed thing you could ever play

if choosing to play this game then fold pre

I think in this game you either just limp with AQo as first to act or limp/rr a big number to limit the field. It just isn't a good hand to raise 4x vs 10 other players and hope to get HU.

As played, I would have checked the hand and eval'd the whole way. But now you have to fold.

Ya, I like a limp/rr line better than a raise 4x. Sucks to fold here in this particular game, where players are coming in with all kinds of garbage, but I definitely see merit in that too.

I ended up making the crying river call, and V showed flopped set of 5s.

Wish I would have posted what I thought Villain had. Set of 5's is exactly what it looked like to me haha
