Slow playing is for amateurs. Every time you slowplay you give a free card that could potentially beat you especially with a weak hand like trips when the pair is on the board. If your hand is much stronger it's also a mistake to slowplay because you deny yourself the 3-streets of value build into the strong hands.

For example, a Set has 3-streets of value designed into its structure and if you try to be "smart" and slowplay it you'll have hard time playing for stacks. With strong hands you should look to play for stacks vs. a villain with a hand. You really don't care about an opponent that missed the flop and let him catch a little to squeeze one bet out of him. You got to target villains with made hands or draws in order to get calls and build the pot up.

Trips are special hands that have their special way to be played well. When the bulk of the hand is on the board you got to know things that people are not aware and most of them get in trouble. The only time when slow playing is correct is when you have the entire deck for yourself. You flopped a FH, a nut Flush, a nut Straight on a rainbow flop and obviously Quads or a Straight-Flush.
