AK vs LRR -- 2/3-300 AK vs LRR -- 2/3-300

Hi all,

Playing 2/3-300 at the Talking Stick (it'll function like 2/3 blind no limit for this hand):

V1 is probably about 50, beard, glasses, probably some sort of eastern European. He's somewhat tight, and is sitting on around 500 after showing down several big hands.

V2 is probably around 35, Polo cap, black, and is too loose preflop, somewhat aggressive postflop. He covers us both due to winning a big trips vs trips (K9o he limped UTG, gets limped 6 ways, BB had 96 on a 99438 runout, they got in about 200 total).

V1 is UTG and thinks about raising, but ends up just calling. I make it 15 (playing about 400) next to go with AK, folds to V2 in the SB who calls, folds back to V1 who thinks for a moment and makes it 50 total.

Hero? What's your general plan from here if your play here is to call?

An UTG l/r from your standard low limit player is almost always AA/KK. It will be AK/QQ/JJ only a very small percentage of the time.

I fold and don't tell a soul. My plan may be different if I know this particular V is capable of more creative play.

Absent any other information, fold AK to a limp/raise. Villain's range is usually something like AK/JJ+ and weighted towards AA/KK. Unless villain is a maniac folding can't be a huge mistake, but calling/raising often is.

Against a somewhat tight player, I can fold AK here.

A limp/reraise in EP is typically a pretty big hand (in fact, if this table was loose I might have even planned that ourselves with our hand). Typically heavily weighted to AA/KK. If we call and, for instance, get a K high flop, we probably make up very few bets against QQ- and whiffed AQ-, but probably lose most of our stack to AA/KK.

A call nets around 3.5 to 1 w Sb almost certainly coming along. So I don't think our equity can ever be that low (vs a RANGE) especially w what reads as the relative button to fold.

A raise polarizes and gives him the leg up in the pot imo, so normally I would elect to call.

Id be looking for A K flops obviously, and to pick up on weakness if there's a draw heavy board. It appears our utg vil requires pretty large holdings to show down. Let's keep that in mind. Especially blocking some of his large holdings, and having the ability (I'm assuming) to at some point be able to throw out 300 or so for hopefully at least half the pot.

So overall fit or fold should work a lot of times here, but realize our position and blocker potential in addition to his tight postflop tendencies to gain some additional value.
