AK turn bet after flop call.. standard? AK turn bet after flop call.. standard?

Home game with .25/.25 blinds.

7 players in game. Villain is a thinking player and slighly tricky. Seems to play a wide range (but not total trash), and has shown ability to bluff. Hero has been semi-active and winning pots, hasn't shown down many hands but has won at showdown when he has. An orbit ago, Villain called Hero's AI with K6s on a KKx flop. Chopped with Hero's K7s.

Hero has 120BB, Villain slightly covers.

UTG call $.25
UTG+1 (Villain) call $.25
UTG+2 (Hero) raises to $1.50 with AKo
Button +1 fold
Button fold
SB, BB fold
UTG, Villain call.

3 players, 20BB pot ($5) on the flop:

A 7 3 r

UTG checks, Villain checks, hero bets 12BB ($3). UTG folds, Villain calls.

Turn:
A 7 3 6, two hearts (Hero has none). Pot is now ~44BB ($11), hero has 100BB behind, Villain covers.

Villain checks, hero ???

Seems like a fairly standard spot, wanted a line check. Comments on other streets welcome.

Y, turn is a standard bet/fold, say ~1/3 of eff stack. This leaves <PSB for the river.

I'd make pre-flop raise higher, but table-dependent.

I think the hand was played fine. I'd prefer the bet this turn card as I think it makes the hand easier to play/ keeps us out of tough situations. If we so decided to check this back then we need to be prepared to call most River bets regardless of River card / unless V never ever bluffs.

What's your plan if C/R'ed on turn?

Thanks all.

Results:
A 7 3 6, two hearts (Hero has none). Pot is now ~44BB ($11), hero has 100BB behind, Villain covers.

Villain checks, hero bets $3.50 (less than 1/3 pot). Not a good bet size, I know. Villain check raises all in, hero folds.

I suppose I was wondering if checking behind for pot control would have been smarter, or if that's just 20/20 hindsight. (I'm calling any reasonable river bet if turn goes check/check).

After villain's checkraise, I was putting him on 2 pair (ace/rag or maybe 76) or possibly a set (he would likely limp pocket 3s PF, and possibly limp pocket 6s or 7s). Although villain had shown bluffing tendencies, I didn't think he would bluff this large. A worse ace probably doesn't C/R.

Well those suggesting bet fols im assuming they would folding a x raise. Do you have any evidence that V will x raise bluff or x raise combo draws? Vs your average villan bet folding in this spot is usually fine. If he is raise happy and doesn't care about the stakes we can call and bluff catch river.

Bettin that small can induce bluffs sometimes by again this is very villan dependant.

If he is thinking and tricky he might see your small bet and say I can take this with any two cards. What could you have that you bet that little and still call all in?

Your raise size is fine unless your opponents call particularly large raises with a wide range. You don't want them to tighten up too much or it is hard to get value post flop from worse hands. Betting big tends to fold out many dominated hands pre flop and well that isn't fun. As always, it depends on your opponents.
