AK Flop Check, Wild Game AK Flop Check, Wild Game

NL 1/2
Hero is in a wild game. Hero is the shortest stack at table (165). Hero has AK
Hero raises UTG to 12 which is his standard raise with no limpers.
MP calls, Cutoff calls, BB calls.
POT $49
Flop 8Q8
Hero checks. I usually do not C-bet on boards like these with three callers when I miss. Is this incorrect? Do you do otherwise?
MP checks, cutoff checks, BB shoves for 200.
BB is a 30 yo WG who's very laggy. He's very aggressive and has shown about 4 bluffs this session. Hero???? Do any of you try to play sheriff here?

You are scared to cbet this board but your ok with calling off your entire stack?

Against 3 other players a check is the right thing to do. If it was Q66 rainbow Id probably take a shot.

Ya it looks like he has a flushdraw here but there are still 2 other people to act behind you. If it was HU I would entertain a call.

No, especially not with more guys in the hand yet to act after you. Even if he just has some small pocket pair, you're in serious trouble. If he jammed with a FD, good for him. That would be the best case scenario for you and you're still only 50/50.

Im guessing you posted this because he took it down and showed some stupid suicide bluff, but its still an easy fold.

Having AK with a starting stack of $165 and a pot of $48 going 4 ways to the flop is a very good spot to be in. When you hit an A or K, you almost always can commit yourself to the pot. When you don't have it you really need to pick your spots and it's probably not a huge error to never continuation bet on flops where you don't at least hit top pair or an 8+ out draw to a straight or flush.

This spot is very strange since he overbet on a paired board. Your equity in the hand is not large enough to justify the call. When you are right you are often in a 60/40 spot and when you are wrong you are getting it in so much worse. Just fold.

I like the flop check and I'm folding here. There will be better spots to bluff catch against this guy.

Folding is what I decided on. I was happy because I yelled, "show the bluff" and he answered, "there is no bluff to show you." I think he had some kind of queen but not an 8. Then again, who knows? I think playing sheriff with these guys over the years has definitely been a leak for me.

I’m just a simple worm farmer, but you have a bad hand and are facing an overbet in a 4-way hand. Yeah I, uh, I find a fold here.

Little unclear how the BB gets to act last on the flop, but guessing it’s a regional variant.
