5/5 - 140bbs eff

V is a mid 20s European with an accent who sat down ten minutes ago and is on the button. Hero is in BB with AKo (don't remember suits)

Two limps pre including villain and I raise to $45, both players call.

Flop (~$140) 9102 I bet $110, other player folds, main villain calls.

Turn (~$360) 5 I bet $300...

Villain has like $550 behind. I was trying to rep AA/KK.
Thoughts?

Why bet so big on the flop and especially the turn?

Not sure I like the flop bet against 2 players especially OOP (which means they haven't even checked and shown weakness yet, plus we're OOP for the rest of the hand).

Did you have a heart?

Turn card weakens range of villain a lot so I like a bet there better. I think I would have checked the flop though.

You know nothing about your V. You have a whopping 10 minutes of information. You don't know how passive he is. You don't know what sorts of hands he will l/c with pre. You don't know if he has a fold button or not.

I have no idea how you play, so I'm not trying to attack your style or anything. But based on your last two threads, it seems you start bluffing away with no real strategy. Simply starting a bluff "just because" is -EV.

I would have c/f the flop.

Tough part here is that if you're going to fire the second barrel, I think you have to fire the third. He has a lot of draws in his continuing range, and you don't want to get to the river and find yourself check/folding a brick.

If you're deeper, I think it's worth considering. But with this betting line you're leaving yourself ~$290 for the river shove. That's pretty small.

I would lead the flop for less then check the turn, especially against an unknown villian. As played if you're trying to get a fold you might as well shove the turn. You bet $300 and he had $550 left so once he calls the turn bet for $300 it's all going in.

Next time you're better off slowing down, especially OOP vs and unknown villian.

I hate it. If I *had* AA/KK here I would be already counting his chips expecting him to call a good portion of the time.

Board is too draw heavy, and he's usually not folding here.
I might have check/given up on the flop.
