2/3 blinds - 100 effective stacks.

Hero in BB with AK

Preflop
Folds to MP+1 who raises to $10, MP+2 calls, Button calls, SB calls. Hero raises to $50. MP+1 calls. All else fold.

Flop Q66
Hero Checks, MP+1 Checks

I just don't see the point of betting this flop. Pot is $130, and MP+1 has $50 left. I think he'll call with any pocket pair (make up a ton of his range here I think) and any Q. I don't think he calls with AJ, AT, etc, but he might bluff later with them.

Turn 8
Hero Checks, MP+1 Checks

Same argument here. At the time I was prepared to call a bet here, but thinking now, I'm not sure that makes sense.

River J
Hero Checks, MP+1 Checks

Same argument here. I am prepared to hero on the river.

Was my thinking totally backwards here? Should I have bet, and if so why?

With effective stacks at 100, why would you not just jam preflop with this action?

This for me, I'm just jamming preflop. You're not even going to have a 1/2 PSB remaining and thus you'll have almost no FE at all. Jamming preflop also allows us to see 5 cards which in turn allows us to realize our full hand equity.

As played, you have no choice but to GII in my opinion.

Agree with shoving pre. There's $43 in dead money out there. Picking it up right now risk free would be a fantastic result.

BTW if stacks were deeper, like say $300 ES, I would recommend 3betting at least $60.

Why is there no infor on Villain?

With this stack size I definitely like a shove on the flop. You have decent equity against small pps and put a ton of pressure out there

With these stacks and all the dead money in the pot, I'm cool with preflop; I'd also raise to $50 as it prevents setmining odds (giving poor 8:1 to any caller).

With Villain only having $50 left in a $130 pot, the reason we shove the flop is to protect our equity; it sucks giving him a freeroll to hit his card on the turn if we happen to be ahead (which we often are). If he has a pair, he *probably* won't fold it (but you never know), but that doesn't even matter as we're already giving ourselves the correct odds to chase our overs.

If we had AA/etc. here I'd often check/check this here in order to hope Villain catches up to one pair to pay off the rest.

ETA: I thought we were 100bbs deep with others, not just $100 deep total. In this case, I would jam preflop (maximizes FE against pairs which if they call a "smaller" bet now are unlikely to fold on the flop).

Fine as played pre, but just bet flop when you are against one player with $50 left in a $130 pot. As gobbledygeek wrote, to protect our equity.

Note: The effective stack is only $100 in this 2/3 game?

PF: Well, you don't give your stack size, but you do say the effective stack is $100, so I'm assuming pretty much everyone in this hand when it gets to you only has $100. So when it gets to you there are (4) people in the pot for $10, so the pot now is $43. I would just shove for $100. I'm not sure the point in raising to $50; that may encourage a string of callers if MP+1 decides to call.

F(130): SPR is 0.4. Just shove. If we don't shove, here do we just want to check it down?

T(130): Well if our plan is just to check it down, then....

R(130): Well, I don't get it. I guess we got this far, might as well try to check it down.
