AK in 3b pot 2/5 AK in 3b pot 2/5

Regardless of postflop, what is this minraise preflop man, you basically gave him odds with ATC.

3betting prints money when you give ****ty odds and still get called, and it prints even more money when people just fold, put 3 greenies in there next time at the bare minimum mate.

lol I totally am. If I had my crystal ball under the table and knew villain isn't bluffing, then isn't this a clear fold? Don't buy other comment that he plays AQ-AT like this, so we know we're getting worse odds from the pot than chances we're ahead. Forget I mentioned his bluff one orbit ago and he just can't hide his heavy breathing.

Seems like OP is just trying to argue against everyone that is telling him to GII here. If that's the case, then why even post the hand? Not trying to be an ass, that's just how this whole thread has come off.

Look, all we have to go off of is what you put in the description. You said you're at a relatively aggro table and have been getting run over a good bit. Then you give us a HH of V that portrays him to be a bit of a loose cannon who's willing to put a lot of money in the pot with weak holdings despite his opponents showing immense strength. Based on that, when you have AK and show up with top 2 OTT in a 3! pot with ~100 BB stack, what else can be said other than to put the money in. Yeah it's a dry board and thus your V is fairly polarized and there's very few logical combos he can have in his range here, but if you're not willing to get a ~100bb stack in here against this type of V when you're pretty close to the top of your range then you shouldn't be playing in this game. Sorry if he flopped a set, coolers happen.

lol I don't think I'm ever folding, I just wanted to see how crazy I am for thinking there's ever a situation to do it. Yeah I agree you can't against this player if he has even a whiff of air. He doesn't know I'm getting beat up tho cause he just sat down...I was paying off not getting run over. Argue just to argue lol

If you fold AK then you are only ever calling with AA. If you're coolered, that sucks.

Also, 3-bet bigger pre.

I put his range at A6, AT+, or 66. I rule out AA because I doubt he raises the flop with it. I rule out 22 because I personally don't open 4x with 22, and certainly don't want to call a 3b with it. I also don't play 2/5, so if this is wrong, so be it. I don't think KK, QQ, JJ, or TT will raise OTF. KK would maybe if he is aggro, though, so I'll include a separate calculation.

With the range above, your equity is a staggering 86%.

If we add AA, KK, and 22 to villain's range, we get 77%.

If we subtract AQ, AJ, and AT from villain's range, we still have 46.3% equity.

I think, outside of other information weighing villain more towards 66, AA, or KK we absolutely have to call here.

Considering that the V image is agro, we can be expecting him to 4-bet AA, KK, QQ, AKs/o, AQs/o, KQs. Him calling our 3-bet puts him on (22-JJ, 65s-QJs, QTs/o-KJs/o, KTs/o-AJs/o, ATs/o, A9s-A2s, JTo- KQo). While I like the 3 bet, I think we need to size up a little bigger. I think around 75-80 is good. Thoughts on this sizing?? Flop bet is great and now what is he really repping on the flop??? Is he going to raise sets or two pairs??? That is highly unlikely I feel. I think that the V might think you will fold to aggression since he might see that you are getting run over by others. Condensing his pre flop range, his range now is pretty polar. (slow played AA, KK…..JJ-99, 66, 22, AJs/o, ATs/o A2s, A6s). The turn I think we have to call. He either knows you have AK and he has a set or he’s bluffing. I just do not see him jaming a set here after we have called his raise. IMO i think he has JJ, AQ, AJ, AT. Results??

How can you tell he is never bluffing? i have seen people who I could of sworn had the nuts, and couldn't possibly bluff - bluff. People do weird things all the time, and unless you had a physical tell that he was strong - you cannot fold this hand. Hell he might even think AQ / A2 / A6 is a strong hand and thinks he has the nuts. I sure as hell would if you played the hand like this.

Yeah I thought he was raising perceived air with air on the flop given the smallish raise. The turn just seemed odd, but I guess if you raise small like that you have to be prepared to followup bluff or not.
