This was my last hand of the session and i told the whole table this was my last hand jokingly (even though it was) blinds are 1/2. Im in middle position with AJo and raise to 8. It folds around to the BB who is a 20 something year old player who is wearing large beats headphone and watching some show on his iphone. He has been winning big pots with hands such 76o 79o A3o (won with straights) he likes to limp alot and limp call raises. My image has been tight, but aggressive when im in the pot by the way.

BB calls my 8 bet

Flop comes 7d Ah 10d

POT is 17

BB checks flop
Hero bets 12
BB raises to 28

I honestly felt like he heard me say it was my last hand and was making a move on me. He has been showing several hands that are 2 gappers and 1 pair even when he loses at showdown so i felt this board may have connected with him. Maybe i was over thinking it.

What would you have done?

How often has V been 3betting? I would peel one and reevaluate the turn. Basically never folding and never raising to that size raise.

I'd muck to a real size raise here, but I'll take one off because the raise is so small. Probably mucking to a turn bet. It's rare for people to attack preflop raisers on Axx flops. He might just be taking one stab at it in case you have nothing, it being your last hand.

Yep, I have to peel here there’s a lot of semi bluffs presented on this board with this player type.. ChrisV I think we can’t call here and fold to all turn bets. Can’t assume v just shuts down to a flop call. Most semi bluffs have to barrel turn as well so I think if we call flop we need to call blank turns and most rivers

We should not even give a HINT when it is our last hand.

Don't get a rack or two.

Don't pick up our card protector.

Don't look at our watch.

Don't restack our chips.

And don't TELL that it's our last hand or last round.

Just play until we are done.

Because thinking players expect us to play differently on our last hand.

Because most of us DO play differently on our last hand.

Most of us are tighter because "who wants to lose a big pot on our last hand".

Might as well staple a sign to our forehead that says "bluff me".

Then we have to decide are they reading the sign and acting on it, or do they really have something?

Grunch

Call.

Call turn bricks

Also don't tell people when it's your last hand and you won't have to worry about thinking people are playing back at you because it's your last hand.

see bolded
this is why you should have folded pre instead of raising and cashed out.

but reality is most of us are Degen's who need that last bit of action and will raise any two cards on our last hand or call any size raise just for that fleeting moment of adrenaline .

All of these are pretty meh to lolsilly

Getting a rack doesn't mean your leaving. Especially if they don't put it on the table. (If they out it on the table, they are typically leaving, unless they get like 1 rack but would need 2+, then they are probably just coloring up)

Don't bring a chip protector because they're stupid. Not sure I've ever seen a good player bring one (though I'm sure there are some, but probably the minority), but it's usually just an indicator that someone is a fish. Use a chip. It works the same and you don't need to remember anything

Don't look at your watch?!? Really? Because wanting to know the time signifies you're leaving? There are a myriad of reasons why this is silly.

Don't restack your chips? I routinely see people stack and restack there chips numbers of times just because poker is boring as **** and it's an activity to keep them busy.

I was under the impression this was a LAG. Didn't realize villain just limps and calls garbage. Has he been showing aggression post flop?
