$1/$3.

BTN - $300
SB - $80
Hero - $300

SB is weak-passive, very loose preflop, VPIP probably around 70%+. Only a few hands in but BTN knows the dealers and staff, looks confident at the table, seems quite reggy from the 5 minutes I've played with him.

Folds to BTN who raises to $13. SB calls. Hero has AJo. Hero 3b to $39. BTN 4b to $140. Fold, fold.

My thoughts were that I was pretty far ahead of most BTN opening ranges, and definitely way ahead of the SB weak-passive fish, who I was looking to isolate with this raise.

Thoughts on a flat pre?

I like the 3b. If he can raise light at all on the button it's cool. And he probably can. Once you get 4b, oh well, what can you do, you tried.

If he flips over a bluff take a note and move on. You've encountered the unicorn who can 4b bluff at 1/2.

always better to 3bet pre to someone that wide

weak passive players don't 4bet with anything you can beat. He probably has AA/KK 97.4% of the time and bluffs/hands turned into bluffs 2.6%

weak, passive guy isn't the 4 bettor in this hand

I also like the 3b against a reggy player that can definitely be opening super wide on the BTN.....I probably would have made the 3b slightly larger......once your 4b I'd fold.....BTN needs to work on his 4b sizing

ok still a fold with no reads.

rec players 3b and 4b with all kinds of sizing, it's basically 100 on top which is usually a value raise anyway

I go $45 pre but otherwise looks good. Don't like flatting. WP

3 bet is fine, fold to the 4 bet without a strong read. Without any real read on the situation folding AJo OOP is fine also.
